Whoever said our pals on The Shore had to miss out on a good thing? Tomorrow, new kid on the block Blu Poké Shed is opening its doors, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Bringing one of the hottest food trends in the universe to Albany, this wee gem is sure to have punters lining out the door to get a taste of the poke deliciousness.

Featuring a hip fit-out, it features a mural by local graphic designer Soomin Bae, wooden fixtures and a counter full to the brim with foodgasmic goodness. Blue Poké Shed has been a project of passion for owner Nicholas Chang, who comes from an engineering background. Enlisting the help of friends and family, the food-master has pursued his vision to bring poke perfection to the other side of the bridge.

“I’ve always had a thing for food,” says Nicholas. “We want people to come in and feel relaxed and chill in the setting.”

With a menu curated to deliver only the best, Nicholas and the team have collab'd to offer six epic poke bowls. And be sure to keep your eye on the specials board for seasonal offerings from the talented team. Our top pick is the wicked Pipeline Tofu. Jam-packed with organic tofu, rice, edamame, cucumber, corn, beetroot, avocado, orange, sweet onion, wonton crisps and a drizzle of roasted sesame sauce. Nom.

Tofu not to your taste? Opt for Nicholas’ top choice: Blu’s Signature. Featuring your choice of Blu classic salmon or tuna, these bad boys are accompanied with rice, edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, juicy mango, tobiko, topped with crunchy macadamia, then dosed in an addictive Sriracha mayo.

A mini escape to the flavours of Japan, the Habuka Pow is sure to have you coming back for round two. Starring unbelievable salmon or tuna, rice, cucumber, seaweed salad, orange, tobiko, renkon chips, and topped with a wasabi mayo worth raving about, this salad is sure to soon be the talk of the town.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, they also carry the full range of Karma Colas which go down an absolute treat next to any item on the menu.

Giving us city slickers some major food envy, there’s no denying Blu Poké Shed is going to be a massive hit. Don’t just take our word for it, head on down tomorrow and see what all the fuss is about!
