Clayfield Seafood Market
If fresh, local, and all round delectable fish and chips are what you’re after then Clayfield Seafood Market is your answer. These guys aren’t your regular fish and chip shop though, no sir. The seafood here is fresh not frozen for a start and is locally sourced. Everything is boned and filleted on site and they even make their own batter using Newstead Brewing Co.’s Amber Ale—it’s a full blown local love affair. Plus, all of their sauces are made on site too; none of those impossible to squeeze sauce sachets here, folks. Gluten-free peeps, they’ve got you covered too with a separate fryer for gluten-free chips and a whole bunch of GF options. Oh boy.
PappaRich
Tucked away in the Wintergarden, PappaRich are serving up quintessential Malaysian classics like nasi lemak and laksa, and is the go-to for authentic—and delicious—Malaysian food. The roti canai is possibly their most famous dish (their fluffy, buttery house made roti served with curry dipping sauces is to die for!), but stop in for a sweet snack and try the hainan bread, a delish traditional sweet bread served with traditional Malay coffee.
Little Red Dumpling
Little Red Dumpling has delivered a delicious array of fresh dumplings and noodles to West End. The team at Little Red uses freshly picked ingredients and ancient Chinese techniques to give you the most mouth-watering food. Contraband Coffee Container in Fortitude Valley is satisfying everyone with their epic burger-heavy menu. Whilst this unassuming store front is surrounded by fences, they are breaking the mould by recently teaming up with Bella BBQ and will be opening later into the night soon. Hello Please operates out of a shipping container in front of a huuuge graffiti mural of Muhamad Ali—insert pun about the food here being ‘the greatest’—and under string upon string of fairy lights. It really is a cool venue, there’s no denying that. The seating is communal and a far cry from the tiny plastic stools you’ll find lining the streets of Vietnam.

Stop by for a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, a delicious slice of cake, and some great vibes.Their breakfast menu is a thing of beauty, especially their far from basic avo on toast. Plus, they do dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Since Lola Coffee opened a few years ago in a back street of Woolloongabba, this gorgeous (and totally calming) cafe has stolen Brisbane's coffee crown! Bringing caffeine salvation to the area's coffee lovers, Lola Coffee is the perfect spot to grab a cheeky cappucino and a piece of cake (name a better pairing—we dare you!).

Brisbane's favourite kitchen emporium-come-wonderland, Taste has moved from its iconic James Street location, and has set up new digs in Red Hill! Located in a beautifully renovated workers cottage (Insta snappers at the ready!), Taste's new store still showcases the very best curated homewares, products and utensils they're known for, but in addition, now also serves up coffee (courtesy of Toby's Estate), sweet treats and pastries (thanks to Jocelyn's Provisions), plus a deli where you can pick up luxury goodies for your pantry!
Market Organics
Brisbane has finally landed a huuuge organic super store in Rocklea, right next to the markets, so you know it's fresh. So, expect mega-fresh organic-produce from Aussie farmers including fruit, veg, meat, milk, eggs, bread, natural cosmetics and a whole lot more. There's also a cafe, serving up (you guesed it) organic, local goodies. The aptly named Evolve Cafe does a great gourmet sandwich, and a whole heap of cold pressed juices. It's a one stop shop.

Happiness Hub
The Happiness Hub, in Albion, is the little slice of happiness and warmth we've been waiting for. Just as the name suggests, it's a hub for happiness. It can be a co-working space for creatives or general busy bees on Tuesdays, with barista made coffees and baked goodies (cakes, loaves and a whole heap of other deliciousness free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar, but full of love) from Baked Livingness with wifi and good vibes. The rest of the time it's a community space for events, markets and workshops, with their Winter Pop Up Market kicking things off. Plus, the space is super cute; think exposed wood details and splashes of hot pink. You can also hire it out for your next event and treat your taste buds to catering from Baked Livingness.
Pizza Caffe
The Pizza Caffe at The University of Queensland in St Lucia is a local institution for good reason. There are 26 pizzas on offer, one for each letter of the alphabet, each named after a famous Italian movie star or director as a nod to their affiliation with arthouse Schonell Theatre next door.
House Of Hygge
House of Hygge is bringing a taste of the Scandanavian to Brisbane, and we're not complaining. Hygge is the Danish word for taking pleasure in the ordinary, a valuable lesson and a great life motto. This new West End eatery boasts an array of Danish classics such as the smorrebrod, frikadeller (Danish meatballs) and rye sandwiches. Less traditional classics include their hoagies, aptly named hyggies and some next level breakfasts. There's also a community garden too, so you know the produce is as fresh as they come.

Serving up tasty tacos, filling lunchtime tortas, and some hefty share plates for dinner, this is one Mexican joint that doesn't roll with the rest of the pack.

The Shave Saloon, Bar & Kitchen have just opened their doors in Queen Street, and we couldn't be more excited. It's the perfect spot to grab a cut throat shave, a charcuterie board, and a drink all at once. Tucked away in a cocktail bar with whiskey and cocktails on offer, this barber shop might be your new spot for after work drinks during the week. Who would of thought?! Plus, you can get your coffee fix here from 8am.
NeNe Chicken
NeNe Chicken has just opened up in the CBD, and we couldn't be more excited. "Ne" is Korean for "yes" which is what we say whenever someone offers us delicious fried chicken. NeNe chicken is one of South Korea's most beloved fried chicken spots, and it's finally in Brisbane. Yaaas. Offering up our favourite staples of fried chicken and beer, we're already obsessed with this spot.
Dello Mano
Thanks to Dello Mano's new store, everyone's favourite brownies will be available in the CBD, yay! The new store will be located in the Tattersall's Arcade off Queen Street Mall. Expect their signature luxury brownies, decadent cakes and tarts and a perfect cup of coffee.
Charlie’s Raw Squeeze
Charlie's Raw Squeeze, now in Ashgrove, is a vegan one stop shop for fresh, healthy and totally delicious eats. As the name suggests, you can expect raw vegan goodies and a whole lot of gluten free and refined sugar free offerings. Try a 'squeeze bowl' or a smoothie if you're hungry, or a raw sweet treat if you're looking to spoil yourself. Ps. They do happy hour, but for juices!

At long last, the coastal vibes of Noosa Longboards have set up shop on the not so sandy shores of East Brisbane. Stocking their own handcrafted line of surfboards plus a curated offering of local artisans and international brands that are so cool it hurts, it's a taste of the coast sans the traffic jams.
Metropole Bar & Eatery
Another fresh face to add to Brisbane's burgoning dining scene, Metropole Bar Eatery in the CBD is a game-changing restaurant, set to ablaze your fickle tastebuds! The dining hall-style precinct will feature various cuisines—Japanese, Vietnamese, America, Italian, the list goes on—plus a number of bars, including a covered laneway, cocktail and espresso bar. Health food champions Nodo Donuts and Pressed juices have joined forces in a match made in organic, gluten-free, mouth-watering heaven. Located on Elizabeth Street in the CBD, all of your favourites from both culinary teams are available, with the added bonus of Barefoot Barista coffee grinding up your morning brew, which basically means this is your new daily drop-in for brekky on the go. Doughnuts for breakfast? Now we're talking!
Lucid Sweets
North-siders prepare for a sugar rush because Lucid Sweets has opened its first IRL store in Geebung! Boasting beautiful meringue kisses as far as the eye can see, you can now get your hands on Lucid's infamous sweet treats whenever the sugary mood strikes. With a huge array of mini meringue flavours including rosewater and pistachio, raspberry and coconut, plus our personal fave, toasted coconut, Lucid Sweets is also keeping the more savoury-inclined customers content with freshly toasted bagels, croissants and sandwiches all day, everyday.
