Flavours of Greece
Let’s face it, there’s nothing better than Greek food when you need a hearty feast. The Flavours of Greece fest will be hosting a range of cooking workshops, trivia nights, and Greek dining experiences so you can get your fill of souvas and gyros. There’ll also be a bunch of activities for the kiddos, so grab the fam and head down.
Docklands Winter Fireworks
The Docklands really know how to impress us. Every Friday during July and August, the Docklands will be lighting up with a free fireworks show! This will blow just about anyone’s socks off. For a perf end to the evening, grab a bite to eat along the water.
Vintage Warehouse Sale
For all your velvet, corduroy and paisley print needs, head down to the Collingwood Masonic Centre this Saturday. This Vintage Warehouse sale has tops and dresses starting at a measly price of $5. And we’re sure just about anyone will be able to find a vintage gem. So, go on, become a North-side hipster for the day.
Melbourne Comedy’s Rising Stars
If you love treating yourself to a late night giggle and admiring Melbourne’s funniest folk, head down to The Butterfly Club to check out Melbourne Comedy’s Rising Stars. Hosted by Michael Shafar, you’ll get to see some of ‘Straya’s best new comics while getting sloshed with a drink or two. What better way to spend a freezing Saturday night in Melbs?
Celebrate Frida Kahlo
Frida is one of the uber coolest ladies to grace the art world, so obvs there’s an entire event dedicated to her! You can dress up in your best Latin get up, and go in the running to win a bunch of prizes (did someone say limited edition Tequila bottles?). There’ll be live music, served up with a side of tapas and finger food. The best bit? All night tequila shots! Kween Frida would be proud.
Hank Marvin Markets Mash Up
The Hank Marvin Market and The Creators Markets are mashing up one last time to bring you the goods. Head to Prahran to channel your love for street food and creative bits and bobs. Check out Lil’ Nom Noms for Vietnamese bao, or hit up Mr Burger for some drool-worthy burgs. And for dessert, grab some Greek doughnuts from Lukumades to get your mouth watering. These markets will help you score a crazy good feed, and some nifty nick-nacks as well.
Mat Catter’s Winter Soiree
This one is for all the crazy cat ladies. Cal Wilson is hosting the Mat Catter’s Winter Soiree, and all the money raised will go towards the Cheltenham Cat Rescue shelter to help our feline friends. Get ready for a purrfect evening, filled with dranks, silent auctions, raffles and live music. You can indulge in cocktails and canapes, all while helping our furry friends. Grab your tickets here.
The Batman Markets know how to take care of you during these winter nights. There’ll be over 30 stalls, bringing every foodie’s cravings to one place. From poutine to pierogi, these culinary delights will deffs have you frothing. If you need to warm yourself up with some booze, the Public Bar will be serving up local Coburg lager and vino, and even ‘60s cocktails to tickle yo’ fancy!
Vodka and Pickles
Sklep is taking their Polish roots nek level as they wave goodbye to the financial year with pickles and vodka. Zubrowka (please – they only serve the best) will accompany some pickles for an arvo of sipping and munching. That way, you can admire their vintage Polish posters in style! Maybe you’ll even nab a bargain while you’re down there?

Haven’t got your Splendour gear ready yet? No stress. There’s an entire market dedicated to getting you looking your grooviest. There’ll be a bunch of local designers, musicians, foodies and artists all shacking up in Brunswick for the day. From unique jewellery to psychedelic eyewear, you’ll be the coolest kid at Splendour fo’ sho’.
If you love truffles as much as we do, then this is the masterclass for you. The Craft and Co. have teamed up with 4 expert producers, and is providing a multi-course truffle themed lunch with a bunch of drinks on pour! Think truffle salami, pine mushroom and truffle croquettes, and even chestnut and ricotta fritters served with truffle honey. Yep, we are droooooling.
