We hate to be the bearer of bad news—but in case you've been in your own little world, it's the last weekend of summer. Ugh. Sorry, we had to bring it up. But only to remind you of all the AWESOME things happening in the city this weekend! There's gonna be wet belly contests, grape picking and bacon making. Yeah, it's gonna get weird.

Here are 23 awesome things happening this weekend in Melbourne.

It's another massive week of clashes in AFLW, highlights include the GWS Giants playing their first ever game in Western Sydney against raining premiers the Adelaide Crows. And top of the ladder Brisbane Lions will play Fremantle who upset the flying Demons last weekend.

Viva Brazil Festival

Didn’t save enough for that trip to South America? That’s okay, coz the party vibes of Brazil are coming to the Queen Victoria Market. It’s going to be two full days of Brazilian food, entertainment and dancing (including a Brazilian dance class so you can upgrade those moves). Go on, shake what yo mama gave you!

Homeless Grapes Project

Alright all you wine lovers and Goon of Fortune players, the Homeless Grapes Project needs your help. They're hosting a gathering of winemakers, growers, producers, families and individuals to come together and produce a fantastic local wine, but they need some grape pickers to, you guessed it, pick grapes. And it's happening today at De Bortoli in the Yarra Valley. Come on, do it for the Goon. They'll be serving brekky burgers and coffee for FREE.

Twilight Street Food Festival

Wake up, it’s Friday! Head down to the banks of the Yarra to nom on some American, Greek and Mexican street food, plus listen to live music. It’s a FREE event, but if you purchase a meal, you’ll snag a free boat ride too. Score! There'll be Furphy on tap, a waterside cocktail bar and lawn games. Sounds like a pretty epic Friday night. Western Bulldogs Pride Match

The Western Bulldogs AFL Women’s team will be hosting Carlton for the first-ever Pride Match. They’ll be celebrating inclusion, diversity and welcoming everyone into the Football community. They’ll be putting on a ton of fabulous events such as a nail bar (???), free ice cream from Bulla (YAS), photobooths #fortheInsta and food trucks. Best part, it’s all FREE.

Ask any self-respecting Melburnian and they’ll tell you this: there’s nothing better than a tall glass of champagne paired with gourmet canapes — because, #balance. Luckily for us, you can have both at Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes Day this weekend. The Caulfield Racecourse will come alive with the sound of galloping hooves, live music, free-flowing beers, sizzling beef patties and (the best bit) bubbling champagne.

The Classics At Stonnington

In its last week of production, Stonnington is presenting us with a bittersweet symphony, literally. ARIA award-winning songwriter Clare Bowditch will be a guest artist and will perform two of her original songs with the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra (plus, a new solo work). As Zara Larson once sang, “We just wanna be part of your symphony!” Great, now that song’s in our head.

Linden New Art

Anyone know Yiddish? Linden New Art presents sixteen new works of art by Nicole Newman. They’ll be showcasing small-scale sculptures that are intended to be somewhat of a puzzle. There are hidden messages engraved in Yiddish and it’s your job to figure out what the object is. Sounds kosher.
