PSA: Heaven exists on earth and we’ve found it! It smells a little like freshly cooked crepes and sounds like corks popping—oh and did we mention it’s coming to Auckland?!
That’s right, Le French Festival is bringing all of the best bits of France to Auckland for one day only! Scratch any plans you might’ve made for Saturday 26th of August because you’ll be down at Shed 10 spending the day the French way.
The festival kicks off with One Day In Paris, a market dedicated to all things fun, flavoursome and francais. With more things to do than you can shake a baguette at, there’s something fun for the whole crew. There will be language classes, French music and short film screenings, games of pétanque—you name it, basically, everything you’ll ever need in order to truly become French will be here.
Of course, no French celebration is complete without a killer line-up of food. With plenty of stalls dishing up all kinds of traditional nosh, there’s no excuse for going home hungry. Here you’ll be able to fill your tum up with your favourite French treats from pâtisserie to pastis, croissants to crêpes and everything in-between. Of course, in true French fashion, there will be some fine drops of wine on hand to wash it all down.
As if the day couldn’t get any more spectacular (and your belly couldn’t get any more full), the festival will wind down in style with a French banquet dinner. Themed oh-so-patriotically in the country’s blue, white and red colours, diners will be treated to a four-course degustation. We hear that there’s even going to be a whole course dedicated entirely to cheese!
Saying that we’re amped for this event is a bit of an understatement. Bring on August!
