Taking a cheeky few days out of your regular ol’ reality is one of life’s little pleasures. It’s something we try to do as often as possible, so when it comes to planning your next out of town getaway—there is definitely a right way to do it.

First and foremost, you’ll want to get as far away from your office, emails, in-laws and exes (you know it’s true), but more on that later. Hot tip: Sydney is just the right amount of far, but weekend getaway-worthy. That's why we’ve teamed up with Flight Centre, who we like to think of as our mate with alllll of the hook ups when it comes to getting out of town (their packages won't even break the budget).

This is how you can nail a cheeky getaway in Sydney—it’s important, okay.

Start With A Sweet Deal

All good getaways start with a sweet, sweet deal. One that’ll get you out of town and save you some serious cash, because we all know what saving money on a holiday means—more cash for cocktails, while on said holiday. Flight Centre has a few amazing deals happening right now, so head here and get booking.

Stay In Style

You’ll exit Sydney airport feeling a million miles away from all of your baggage at home (read: office, emails, in-laws and exes) and be whisked straight to your hotel, which will be complete with luxe day spa, no doubt. We recommend you keep the luxe good times going by heading for the theatre. It’s the best way to continue your new luxe life, and nothing will make you feel better about your own life than watching Muriel’s Wedding The Musical. Poor Muriel.

Treat Yo’self And Feast

Sydney is known for it’s great restaurants and general love of all things delicious, which makes a foodie feast mandatory. Greek food lovers make a beeline for Apollo, while Chinese food aficionados will love life at Mr. Wong. French food is authentic and almost too delicious at Restaurant Hubert (oddly, they also do a mean margarita) or you can just keep it classy at Bangbang Café, because their burgers are next level amazing—add extra bacon, always.

See The Sights

Everyone knows the view is always better from the top, and Sydney is no exception. The BridgeClimb sees locals and visitors alike flocking here on the daily and get ready because you’re about to join them. Once you’ve checked out the entire city from the sky, go and visit bae at Madame Tussauds and tell Ryan Gosling that we say hi.

Cocktails & Champagne Only

We are firm believers that girls’ trips should involve a lot of cocktails and thankfully, Sydney has many options in this department. In the CBD, head to Kensington Street Social or Kittyhawk—they’ll take good care of you. If you want to combine sight seeing with cocktails and food (the ultimate combination), then book a spot for you and your crew on the Sea Cruise high tea. This is the easiest way to combine sight seeing with sparkling wine—so get on it.

Buy A Whole New Wardrobe

So you’ve saved some serious dosh on your flights, and spent those savings on cocktails #priorities, but we all know that what you really need is a new wardrobe (don’t we all, sister), so head for Oxford Street—the Paddington end. Here, you’ll find a mix of high street shops and designers like Sass & Bide, Parlour X, and Scanlan & Theodore (for starters). You’ll blow your entire budget, but that’s what getaways are all about.

Head For The Sea

Before you head straight to the airport and hop on home to NZ, you’ll want to get some fresh ocean air into those lungs of yours. Head to Bondi Beach—it’s a cliché for a reason—and stroll the coastal walk. Grab a coffee from one of the many cafes in Bondi (Harry’s, Porch and Parlour, or Mr. Toppers are our picks) before exploring the coast, because literally, nothing clears the mind better than the ocean air. Hot tip: do this one in winter (less tourists).
