If you love to eat, you might already be aware of the progressive dinner concept. All the rage throughout New Zealand, progressive dinners allow you to location hop from one restaurant to another. Basically it’s a dinner with successive courses being prepared and eaten at various locations, usually with the consumption of one course per location.
Alpine Wine Tours have recently launched one of the most exciting (and scenic) progressive dinner tours imaginable. With three iconic stops, you’ll experience some of Queenstown’s most beautiful settings and enjoy some of the incredible food it has to offer. Without giving too much away, you’ll want to arrive with an empty stomach because there’s so much to take in (literally and metaphorically).
You’ll get picked up in the centre of Queenstown before being whisked away on a social night out. Start your evening with a wine tasting (including bubbles) or craft beer while enjoying mouth-watering food pairing overlooking the iconic Shotover River. Next up, you’ll take a scenic drive out to Gibbston Valley—known as the Valley of the Vines for an interactive wine tasting with your main meal. Wrap up your night with a decadent dessert in the heart of historic gold rush village Arrowtown, enjoying an after-dinner digestif by a roaring log fire.
It sounds like the perfect evening to us, though you may need to roll yourself home.
