Fancy going overseas? Don’t we all. While international travel might be off the cards for a little while longer, here’s your chance to get away a little closer to home. A great new initiative called On The House has been launched by Waihetians looking to stimulate the local economy after understandably being hit hard by the lockdown.
Over 70 home-owners, hotels and baches are giving up their spaces for one glorious weekend in June where the rental fee will be converted into Waiheke dollars for you to spend during your stay on the island. Winning!
Tour the vineyards, bike your way around the island, glide along a zipline or catch a movie at the boho cinema—how you spend your time (and money) is entirely up to you. With the likes of award-winning vineyards such as Tantalus Estate, Oyster Inn, Mudbrick and Casita Miro on offer you’ll be truly spoilt for choice. Wine not your vibe? Here are all the things you can do on Waiheke that aren’t drinking wine.
From sweet one bed apartments, two-bed homely baches right up to five bedroom macking pads with swimming pools, you’re sure to find the perfect place for you and your crew, and as we all know, any time on Waiheke is always a good time.
But you’d better get in quick, the deadline to book all properties is June 12, so go forth and get browsing.
