Us Perthians will travel surprisingly far from home to cure our miserable morning mood with delicious breakfast eats and this roadmap of the best new Perth breakfasts to try in 2015 will ensure that your bleary-eyed journey is not wasted.

Some places are new to the scene and some are tried and true Perth breakfast spots that keep creating dishes that make it worth getting up before noon. Read on for 15 of the best breakfasts in Perth you must try in 2015.

Good Things Cafe

Mosman Park

Good things, great things and delicious things have come out of cafe Good Things, the hot new Perth breakfast spot hidden in the ‘burbs of Mossie Park. It’s hard, nay – it’s impossible, to go past the Caramalised Banana-Nut Hot Cakes – with honey, labneh and optional Maple Bacon. Haha – when is bacon ever optional?! This is hands down one of the best breakfasts in Perth.

The Old Laundry

North Perth

The North Perth neighbourhood consistently delivers exciting new foodie destinations – and then tries to keep them quiet from the rest of the hungry P-town crowd. Perth restaurant The Old Laundry is one of these places – a swinging hipster hangout with an architects-wet-dream fitout, complete with old boiler outside in the courtyard. If you're after a creative Perth breakfast try the Green Eggs and Ham or the Peanut Butter and Jelly Pop Tart.

The Shipping Lane

Fremantle

Providing some friendly competition to the uber popular Bib and Tucker across the carpark, Fremantle cafe The Shipping Lane is the new Perth breakfast spot on everyone’s lips. It keeps the breakfast standards high with its fantastic view and warm Freo-chic warehouse space, which pays homage to its busy wharf surrounds. Catch of the day here is the Slow Poached Salmon - with avocado, spinach, honey mustard, truffle oil, a poached egg with roasted potato, crispy bacon & capers.

The Hardware Store

Scarborough

The absolute bomb at trendy and always buzzy Perth cafe, Hardware is the Tomato and Avocado Bruschetta - one of Perth's best breakfasts. Every part of this seemingly simple breakfast is done exceptionally well; perfectly buttery and toasty bread, ripe slices of avocado and tomato, tasty Parmesan flakes and roasted peppers. I’d say it’s perfection, but it’s even better with a poached egg on the side. In saying that, every brekky coming out of the kitchen at this Scarbs joint is pretty epic.

Sprolo

South Perth

‘Spro (South Perth street slang for espresso) + Yolo (you only live once) = Sprolo. Lol. This popular Perth breakfast spot is bringing some much needed cooking sass to the sparse Canning Highway hospitality scene. Try the Traditional Singaporean breakfast – with sous vide eggs, sourdough, house-made kaya and Pepe Saya butter. Good luck going back to smashed avo ever again!

Nunam

Northbridge

In my opinion, Perth restaurant Nunam is the best fine dining Thai restaurant in all of Perth – and now it’s trying its expert hand at the-most-important-meal-of-the-day with a unique brekkie menu. The Rice Congee is our pick from this gem – with 63-degree eggs, crispy bacon and hollandaise. The Son in Law Eggs is another must-try here - caramelised deep fried eggs, seared scallops, crispy coconut rice cake and grilled watermelon. Droooool!

Hermosa

Wembley

From the peeps behind Tropico North Beach (they sure know how to create a neighbourhood hot spot) comes Perth cafe Hermosa Cantina on Cambridge Street. Get your big breakfast on with their Full Spanish - eggs (cooked as you like them) with chorizo chipolatas, mushrooms, beans, bacon and tomato. Or if you’re a sweet tooth, try the Coconut Bread with cherry meringue and spiced chocolate cremoux. Oh yes.

Chu Bakery

Highgate

Pimp your toast at popular Perth bakery, Chu, which sits prettily on the corner of Hyde Park in Highgate. Order a melange of the toasts from the selection on the board (ranging from $3 - $7.50 each); Hummus, Cucumber and Chilli, Avocado, whipped Fetta and Chilli, Proscuitto, Pear and Brie, Kaya Banana and Coconut, Peanut Butter, Vegemite or Jam. Grab your paper take-away baskets and enjoy in the park or on the benches outside on the footpath – and don’t forget to grab something sweet for after – maybe one of their famous Chu puffs!

East Village

Perth CBD

Classed-up Perth diner, East Village at 140 William Street is perfect for some hangover breakfast fare in the heart of the CBD. Grab a booth in the pristine tiled eatery and tuck into one of their famous Brekkie Dogs – Thick Irish Sausage with coddled eggs and BBQ sauce on a soft roll.

Hylin

West Leederville

The Acai Bowl with granola is a bowl of perfection at Perth cafe, Hylin. In fact, the combination of acai, banana, mixed berries, coconut water served with kiwi fruit, apple and banana on top could just be one of the best Acai bowls in Perth. Hylin's airy, light filled space with a funky industrial fit-out creates the perfect surrounds for enjoying your morning chow.

Pixel Coffee Brewers

Leederville

Tiny Perth cafe, Pixel Coffee Brewers on Oxford Street attracts a heap of Instagram action with its cheery interior and photogenic treats. The coffee is as fancy pants as it gets too, with a whole counter full of coffee-making paraphernalia on display for all to see. Silence your rumbly tum with one of the best breakfasts in Perth, The Sweet French Toast; made with sourdough bread and topped with banana, chocolate marscapone and blackberry syrup garnished with an edible flower, for girlish perfection.

May Street Larder

Fremantle

With ever-popular Freo breakfast spot Bib and Tucker splitting at the seams with its loyal customers, Perth cafe May Street Larder has come along to bring a new breakfast institution to the East Freo scene. Turf yourself out of bed to experience their seasonal menu, packed with raw and organic goodies - they even have Kombucha on tap (sooo Freo). Get your mouth on the Cocowhip Breakfast Bowl or their Soul Sandwich (polenta waffles with fried chicken, avocado, sour cream, chilli maple syrup and jalapenos). Everyone's talking about this Perth cafe for a reason.

Cantina 663

Mount Lawley

Not the newest kid on the block, but the folks at Perth restaurant Cantina keep it fresh with an ever changing menu that keep the hungry hoards elbowing each other to get their hands on the latest from the kitchen (or perhaps that was just me with the elbows… soz). Try the latest sugary morning hit; the S’mores French Toast - with housemade marshmallow, chocolate ganache and shortbread. BAM! BAM! BAM!

Flora & Fauna

Northbridge

Pay homage to the health gods at this Perth Vegan cafe in Northbridge - home to one of the best breakfasts in Perth. The Yang to Varsity Burger’s meaty Yin (the two are neighbours), Flora & Fauna dishes out healthy and beautiful breakfasts (they have a penchant for edible flower garnishes). The menu is constantly evolving but loyal patrons have demanded the return of the Canadian Style French Toast – with blueberry compote and maple syrup from Quebec.

Tropico

North Beach

This popular Cali-vibin’ hangout is consistently packed around breakfast time – and for good reason. Perth cafe Tropico serve up a super tasty breakfast selection, which features produce from local suppliers like Abhis organic bakery and Margaret River Eggs. Make sure to try the Wood Roasted Mushrooms – with basil pesto, poached eggs and artisan sourdough. Yum!
