Mother’s Day has got to be one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants and cafes in Perth and it’s usually the case that if you don’t have a booking, you’re screwed!

There’s nothing worse than rocking up to a place on the day with mumsie in tow only to discover they can’t fit you in. So, to avoid any embarrassment (and feelings of hatred from mum), we’ve partnered up with Dimmi to compile a list of awesome places you can take mum for a long lunch this Mother’s Day.

And the best bit, if you make a booking via Dimmi from now until Mother’s Day on May 8 and enter the codeword “Catalina” you’ll go in the draw to win a luxury getaway to Sydney worth $2,000, including flights, lunch for two at Catalina Rosebay and a night at the Ovolo Woolloomooloo—so get booking and make mum’s day!

Brika

Northbridge

The Greek’s certainly know how to eat, so if you and mum are fans of feasting, head straight to Brika for some of their exceptionally delicious eats. We find it pretty hard picking favourites when it comes to the food at Brika, but if we have to you simply cannot pass up the spanakopita, patates or the halloumi. The spanakopita is all kinds of delicious, filled with spinach, leek and three kinds of cheese. Be sure to order some pita and tzatziki and finish it all off with some baklava. Opa!

Ria Malay Kitchen

Leederville

Leederville locals will know how hard it is to get a table at Ria Malay Kitchen, especially on Mother’s Day. So be a smart cookie and book early so you can treat your tastebuds to caramelised pork belly, spicy chicken wings, traditional peanut satay, soft shell crab, braised caramelised duck, or any number of delicious curries, noodles, veggie and rice dishes. Ria loosely translates to happy, and that’s exactly what mum will be with a belly full of these wonderful Asian fusion flavours.

The Old Crow

Northbridge

One of our favourite places to go for a long and lazy lunch, hit up The Old Crow for their insanely good American soul food. Order some of their brunch and lunch favourites like smoked brisket hash and BBQ pork with spicy beans and slow eggs. Also, you mustn’t leave without trying the dirty potatoes side dish with jalapenos, ranch and parmesan.

The Standard

Northbridge

Boasting a menu that runs the gauntlet from bar nibbles to more substantial fare, and with an outdoor garden space that's ideal for sunshine soaked beverages (let’s all pray for sunshine this Mother’s Day), The Standard will really impress your ma! Grab some cocktails, a charcuterie board and settle in for a long lunch while devouring classics like their crisp zucchini flower salad with sour soy dressing, pea tendrils, potato and chilli or the beef brisket with onion cream, daikon, king oyster mushroom and horseradish. Yum!

Asado

Claremont

Let’s be honest, your hardworking mum probably doesn’t get much of a chance to try something new, so why not wow her with a booking at Asado this Mother’s Day? Your tastebuds will be impressed too, with the epic range of Argentinean street food eats on offer, like the jerk chicken and white corn tacos, spiced fish with tomato adobo and chorizo crumb or pork hock with jalapeno sauce and white bean puree. Side note: This place is definitely not suitable for vego mums!

Subiaco Hotel

Subiaco

Treat mum to some good, honest and fancy pub food this Mother’s Day and book a table at the Subiaco Hotel. Get cosy in the restaurant and show mum just how precious she is by letting her order starters, mains and dessert—trust us, you’ll reap the benefits later. If it were up to us we’d order the chicken liver parfait, slow-cooked lamb shoulder pappardelle and the maple and banana brulee, but you can’t really go wrong at The Subi.

Red Cabbage

South Perth

If you're feeling particularly in debt to your mum this Mother's Day, you'll want to make a booking at Red Cabbage in South Perth quick smart! With a menu that features seasonal flavours cooked with British-Australian flare, let mum choose from the a la carte, degustation or set (12 people or more) menus—you'll be in her good books for life! We're itching to try the Great British Pie with braised pork pudding and scallop, burnt carrot puree, date and pickled cauliflower. Yum!

Cott & Co. Fish Bar

Cottesloe

Long lunch with one of the most beautiful views in Perth? Mother’s Day plans sorted! The menu at Cott & Co. Fish Bar features tons of fresh seafood and goodies like crispy Busselton whitebait, spanner crab with soft polenta and fresh WA snapper fish and chips with a tasty house-made tartare—perfect for the seafood loving mum in your life. Book now and be sure to give mum the seat with the best view!
