Mo Espresso
A funky little espresso bar in the art deco surrounds of Trinity Arcade, Mo Espresso has some serious street cred with Perth’s coffee club. Their coffee is pretty dang respectable (they serve Five Senses) but the tasty treats are really guaranteed to bowl you over - think sensational doughnuts from Top Dup (strawberry, black pepper and balsamic doughnut anyone?), bagels from the Holy Bagel Company and toasties from Pope Joan Sandwiches. Sadly, you can’t be guaranteed that your barista will have an impressive mo… but hey, that's a small price to pay.
Mary Street Bakery
If it's not the doughnuts, the fried chicken with buttermilk pancakes is about all that is needed to convince you to stop by Mary Street Bakery.
John Street Cafe
A long-time favourrite with Cottesloe locals, John Street Cafe is like your favourite pair of PJs in Perth cafe form—homely and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and take-away options are all available. Short Order
Short Order (FKA Short Order Burger Co) has gained a legion of gushing fans thanks to their squishy brioche buns and juicy patties. And thankfully, after leaving their Mantle spot, they've returned to Freo with their brand new, spacious, fully licensed digs on William Street.
Brika
Easily one of Perth’s favourite foodie haunts, Brika, a buzzy Stirling Street mezze bar, is all about enjoying delicious Greek food and drinks in the company of your family and friends. Everything on the menu is designed to be shared but get in quick, when the crispy spanakopita, cheesy saganaki and melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked lamb hit your lips you won't want to share.
Bivouac Canteen & Bar
Firmly entrenched in the hip William Street gang, the uber-cool Bivouac serves up delicious Eastern-style fare that is perfect for sharing and always hits the spot. Open from lunch til late every day from Tuesday til Saturday, this Northbridge restaurant also doubles as a gallery showcasing the work of local artists on the walls.
Run Amuk Hotdogs
Hot diggity dog! Those of you yet to experience the amazingness that is Run Amuk Hotdogs should get yo' selves to this South Freo hot spot ASAP. Using high quality, locally-made bratwurst snags, these hotdogs aren't your usual bread-snag-onions fare. The extensive menu dishes out delights like The Jezabel - a premium bratwurst sausage with sweet chili mayo, cheddar, crispy bacon, pineapple, coriander and a red chili salsa topped with shredded coconut. They’ve got cute little booths for a relaxed date night or bigger tables to take your mates for a cheap night out.
Yoga Alchemy
Perched on top of Ruck Rover in Northbridge, Yoga Alchemy is a hip little studio with a big heart. Wake-up in Northbridge with their Rise and Shine class or shake up your practice in an Experiment Vinyasa class. Yoga Alchemy also offer courses, private and corporate classes as well as packages for brides-to-be. If you want to beef up your practice with some extra sessions at home, you can download their Shine package from their website (for a small fee of course).
Xtend Barre Perth
Always wanted to be a ballerina but lacked the elegance and grace? Xtend Barre Perth could be your schtick. Combining muscle toning movements inspired by Pilates and ballet, toned abs and buns are just a few plies away. Conveniently located on trendy King Street, the sun-filled studios at Xtend Barre Perth are a far cry from many of the smelly gyms we’re used to. Hot tip: don’t forget to bring your grippy socks!
Rooftop Yoga
Make the most of Perth’s sunny clime and take your asana up a level at Rooftop Yoga in Northbridge. Open for a limited time each year, this outdoorsy vinyasa practice led by Laura Carroll from Northbridge Yoga is a summer must do. The early morning classes will jump-start your day, one sun salutation at a time. Check Rooftop Yoga's website for their schedule.
Spring Espresso
You’ll recognise Perth cafe, Spring Espresso in Subiaco by their gorgeous pops of bright red décor, but you'll remember them for their great coffee and service. The crew here offer a unique house blend, single origins and drip coffee, all in a stylish and welcoming setting. There’s a small but tasty menu featuring muffins, slices and a good ol’ smashed avocado brekky, and their cheeky blackboard drawings are sure to make you smile.
Wild Bakery
There really is nothing that tops freshly baked bread ammiright? Perth hole-in-the-wall bakehouse, Wild Bakery in Freo serves up a delightful range of classic French patisserie favourites, made fresh in store. Their sourdoughs are baked using traditional fermenting methods, making them easier to digest than a lot of other breads, with a variety of added tasty bits including toasted sesame seeds, sprouted quinoa, Kalamata olives, spelt and roasted hazelnuts. Grab a loaf for home, and enjoy a cup of coffee with a bronut – a soft, buttery brioche donut filled with a different filling each week (think chocolate, salted caramel, blueberry and lemon curd, just to name a few). The shop is open from 6am every day.
La Veen Coffee
Follow the takeaway coffee cups with the neon green lids to this industrial chic coffee house on King Street. Exposed brick and lashings of wood create a relaxing urban atmosphere for the savvy King Street crowd. Five Senses coffee and a delectable food menu are further proof that Perth cafe, La Veen knows its inner-city audience well. Our tip: get the potato rosti.
Piccolo’s Corner
Located in the leafy suburb of West Leederville, Piccolo's Corner is quaint, cute and the food is spot-on. This gem of a cafe pumps out great coffee and delish eats and takes friendly service to a whole new level, despite the fact they're always busy. In fact, sitting down at a table at Piccolo's feels like you're going over to your neighbours house for a cup of coffee and a good chinwag...if you're lucky enough you may even catch the fact of the day from Grandad Richard!
BOO Espresso
Adding to the list of hole-in-the-wall coffee spots in Perth is Northbridge cafe BOO Espresso. Attached to a warehouse, this friendly little nook serves up really good coffee and light eats. BOO Espresso also serve up ‘puppacinos’ to keep your furry friend happy while you’re getting your morning caffeine fix. Naww.

Your inner child will feel right at home at this friendly little South Freo burger joint, with cutesy drawings on the walls and creaming soda spiders on the menu. Top picks for burgers include the Jack and Jill, Two Little Dickie Birds and The Cow Jumped Over The Moon.
Flo Espresso
Stop whatever you’re doing and head straight to Perth cafe Flo Espresso for a kimchi and cheese toasted sandwich. It’s possibly the most delicious toastie we have ever tasted. Flo Espresso also serve some pretty scrummy Korean street food, along with coffee and a delectable couverture hot chocolate if you’re after something a little sweeter. Top Dup doughnuts also feature at this lovely little hole in the wall.

Harvest Espresso
Rustic little Perth cafe, Harvest Espresso, serve up some of the most creative and colourful plates of food that we have seen in Perth. They'll have you lusting after everything coming out of the kitchen and you're sure to have food envy for days. The small but innovative menu ensures this tiny gem stands out from the ever-growing herd of Victoria Park cafes. Along with the locally roasted Vittoria Coffee, their matcha, red and chai lattes will have you questioning your coffee addiction. Harvest Espresso don't accept bookings so get in early!
Tommy Sugo
For real, fast and simple Italian food, Perth pasta joint Tommy Sugo in Nedlands takes the cake. 30 years in the making, Tommy Sugo’s pasta recipes are out of this world, and their sauces are made with fresh, local ingredients and Italian authenticity in tact. To keep health-nuts happy, Tommy’s also offer up healthy alternatives, including spelt and gluten free options, as well as zucchini and sweet potato pasta. Italians love their caffeinated beverages, which is why these guys also grind up their very own blend of coffee. Grazie!
The Dominion League
Named after an unsuccessful secession movement to extricate our sunny state from the rest of the Commonwealth, the crew from Perth bar, The Dominion League are proud of the West Aussie way of life, but keen to lay the political past of the old league to rest. With a wood fire upstairs and velvet clad booths in the basement, it’s very easy to nestle in and get cosy at this Perth bar. Add a few cocktails and some tasty share plates into the mix and you’ve got the makings for the best night ever.
Meg and Wally
Aptly named after their grandparents, the sister-owners of Meg and Wally have created a homely boutique in West Leederville. Stocked with stylish, quirky homewears and gifts, you’ll also find Australian labels like Auguste the label, Elka Collective, Rosefield Watches and Superga. The girls from Meg and Wally will even pour you a cup of T2 tea while you peruse their wares.
CULTSTATUS | Perth
For more designer goods than you can throw your money at, head to Perth boutique CULTSTATUS in Perth. King Street’s cool status is largely due to this multi-designer boutique which stocks the coolest handbags, shoes and accessories you’ll find in Perth. It’s basically all the stuff fashion bloggers wear in one super cool place; what more could a girl want?

If you’ve still got Ikea prints hanging on your walls it’s probably time to head to Perth gallery, Outré in Northbridge. These guys stock some of the most amazeballs art you’ll find in Perth and they are always keeping things fresh. From pop surrealism and tiki to modern folk and underground art, there is something to suit everyone at Outré Gallery. You’ll also find books, magazines, homewares and toys.
V Burger Bar
High on the list of our favourite burgers in Perth is East Victoria Park’s V Burger Bar. The friendly crew that run this joint cook up some of the tastiest burgers and their battered chips and onion rings never fail to satisfy! Our fave burgers are the Vish (fish), the V Teriyaki Chicken and the Piggy Back (with off-the-bone pork ribs), #drool.

Galileo Buona Cucina is so authentic it's been recognised by the Italian Government with the Ospitalità Italiana quality seal - if that's not a big tick of approval then we don't know what is! With a strong focus on seasonal cuisine and ingredients sourced all the way from Italy, Galileo Buona Cucina is up there with some of the best Italian fare in Perth. Their wine list also boasts over 400 wines from around the world. One word...grazie!
PappaRich
Perth Malaysian restaurant PappaRich first opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur in 2005, and now has 70 outlets around the world, with the Perth outpost – on busy James Street in Northbridge - serving up delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Menu stars include roti, satay, nasi lemak, biriyani dumplings, mee goreng, laksa curry, and fried kuey teow. They have a huge range of drinks available, made from specially blended local coffee and tea, and as an added bonus - there’s a novelty to filling out your own order form and buzzing wait staff to pick it up, then watching the chefs get to work in the open kitchen. Make sure you get in early to beat the crowds – this place is super popular!

A local artists haunt at the Perth’s Institute of Contemporary Arts, Perth bar Picabar is vibing with artsy Northbridge appeal and has become quite the institution since opening in 2012.
Northbridge Brewing Company
With a focus on food, beer and good service, Perth bar Northbridge Brewing Company has firmly entrenched itself in the heart of Northbridge. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, the crew here offer a unique space to enjoy bespoke craft beers and tasty food in a relaxed environment. Look out over the tank rooms to see where the brew is made, then head to the Sky Deck for a view over the city. Sample one of their staple beers – wheat, pale ale, lager and mild – or one of their limited edition kolsch, porter or saison styles, while enjoying a range of share plates.
Wolf Lane
Perth bar Wolf Lane loved drinking in alleyways before it was cool! Exposed brick, high ceilings and wall murals give this popular small bar a NYC loft feel. It’s totes the destinash for a low key cocktail and an old school toastie.
No Mafia
Perth wine bar No Mafia takes a modern approach to traditional Italian fare places an emphasis on local produce, taking inspiration from the recipes of Southern Italy. Serving up consistently good curry in the heart of Northbridge, we reckon Perth Indian restaurant Mela Indian is dishing out some of the best Indian eats in Perth. The interior is bright and vibrant – and so is the food. The servings are generous and there are loads of options to choose from on a menu that includes Northern and Southern Indian favourites such as biriyani, lamb sheikh kebab, dosa, and a good selection of seafood, lamb, chicken and vegetable curries.
Holmes & Co
Tucked away in an alleyway in the CBD, Perth cafe Holmes & Co is a hidden oasis for Perth’s coffee crowd – and used to be one of the only decent coffees to be found in Perth. Serving up Five Senses coffee and simple café food in a peaceful leafy courtyard – what’s not to like?

The iconic Perth hotel, The Terrace, on St Georges Terrace, is the perfect place to soak up heritage chic over a well-chosen wine. And if a drinking sesh, a delish meal or high tea doesn’t satisfy you, stay overnight in one of their award winning luxury rooms. Don't mind if I do!

Fire Shaper Studio
There is a new hot yoga and Pilates experience to be had at Fire Shaper in East Perth. Turn the heat up with their Ignite or Flow classes (which can get as hot at 40 degrees—ouch!) or ease yourself into it with the Shape class (at a more modest 26-32 degrees). Fire Shaper also run a killer hot Pilates class which is definitely one of the best in Perth. Check their website for class times!
Malt Supper Club
Perth late night joint Malt Supper Club is everything a nightclub should be – all sultry atmosphere with lots of dark corners for late night hook-ups. Or maybe you are just there for a cocktail and a pumping DF? Either way, your needs are covered at this late night supper club.

One of the busiest restaurants in Perth, Vietnamese restaurant Viet Hoa is the epitome of cheap and tasty Vietnamese. Grab your mates, grab some BYO and make sure to put some stuffed chicken wings and the roast duck noodle soup on your Lazy Susan.
Who’s Your Mumma
With some of Perth’s best food trucks regularly stopping by to serve up dinner, DJs on the weekend and $12 Bloody Marys and Espresso Martinis, there’s a lot to like about Fremantle eatery, Who’s Your Mumma. It can be easy to miss but once you’re inside, you’ll love the polished concrete floors and rustic meets industrial vibe, complete with reclaimed timber and a mix of outdoor, bar and long bench seating. They have a good selection of wine, craft beers and an ever changing cocktail list that’ll definitely catch your eye and the food menu serves up some tasty snacks and share plates. Perfect for after work drinks and lazy weekends, it’s a nice step away from the touristy crowd.
Alfred’s Kitchen
Perth's oldest burger joint, Alfred’s Kitchen, is a unique take-out hut in Guildford—and one of the best places to enjoy a burger with some bikies by the fire out front. Night after night, the crowds congregate out the front of this roadside local to get their hands on Alfred's famous homemade burgers. Enjoy yours with a cup of their even famouserer (that's a word right?) pea and ham soup.
Whisper Wine Bar
With limestone walls, wooden tables and a French-influenced menu heavy on cheese and antipasto, why not give the typical beer fare a miss and try Freo’s Whisper Wine Bar on Essex Street. The venue is just a few years old, arriving with the early wave of Perth’s small-bar movement and standing out as a cosy spot offering up wines from Australia, New Zealand and France alongside European-style finger foods. Très bien!
Tra Vinh
Perth Vietnamese restaurant, Tra Vinh is the place to go when you get the dreaded noodle hunger and there's not much going on in your wallet. Figure out how many egg noodles a human can eat in one sitting at this Vietnamese eatery – try the stuffed chicken wings and spring rolls while you’re at it. There is also a second Tra Vinh now on William Street in Northbridge.
Pleased To Meet You
Northbridge bar and restaurant Pleased to Meet You has had a HUGE makeover and the name of the game is no longer American inspired eats—we hope you had time to say goodbye to the pig on the spit because he is long gone now my friends.
Govinda’s
Perth restaurant Govinda’s, the Hare Krishna joint on William Street, regularly feeds the Perth peeps with the cheapest veggo food around. The most money to be spent at this Indian buffet is the $10 all-you-can-eat option – so there is no excuse not to stuff your veggie lovin’ face. One of our faves.
The Pizza Lounge
Cute, cosy and casual, Perth pizzeria The Pizza Lounge in Swanbourne serves up great wood-fired pizzas. It offers a huge range of classic and fresh new flavours using tasty ingredients like ricotta and feta cheeses, spicy sausage, salmon and wood-fired lamb rump, sourced from local producers whenever possible. Calzones are also on the menu, alongside pastas, salads and sides, with gluten free pizza bases available. The Pizza Lounge is licensed and has a decent selection of wines along with local and international beers.
The Pickled Fig
There are lots of reasons why the Perth Fig restaurants (Fremantle’s Pickled Fig, Wild Fig in Scarborough and the Naked Fig in Swanbourne, which will soon reopen as a new venue) have gained a strong following - good coffee, a wide range of hearty and fresh meals, friendly service, a strong community standing and amazing locations. The Pickled Fig is just metres from the beach, with 180-degree ocean views, and while the decor is nothing fancy, the meals themselves absolutely shine. Brunch is available every day until 4pm and includes delights such as grizzly pancakes with bacon and eggs, and quinoa porridge with buckwheat, coconut cream, fresh fruit and honey.
The Modern Eatery
Sleek and stylishly minimalist Perth Japanese restaurant, The Modern Eatery, specialises in Aburi sushi – a style where the fish is partially cooked with a blow torch and partially raw, resulting in a subtle buttery and smokey flavour. This Freo venue serves up fresh and delicious Aburi sushi alongside a good range of uramaki, sashimi, nigari and tempura, in a young and fun environment. Try one of the elaborately named and made craft rolls while you sip on 12-year-old Japanese whiskey. Perfect.
The Little Concept
The clever idea behind Perth cafe The Little Concept is anything but small. This funky Freo café, set in a bright space with a light-industrial feel, is all about delicious hot drinks that are nothing like the norm, along with light, healthy meals. Huge blackboards adorn the wall listing the many, many drink options – it’s a tough choice between fresh handmade chai, red espresso (a high antioxidant coffee alternative made from Rooibos), Matcha, Mork chocolate (70 per cent cocoa, sweetened with coconut blossom sugar and suitable for diabetics) or peanut butter hot chocolate. A big and beautiful wooden table in the centre of the cafe is the perfect spot to pull out the laptop and get some work done while enjoying a healthy treat, like the much-loved honey cake.
The Cool Room
Fitted out with retro furniture, urban artwork and beautiful fresh flowers, Perth cafe, The Cool Room is a hidden gem in busy Fremantle. The awesome atmosphere in this small but delightful café peaks on Sunday afternoons with a live swamp blues band. The counter top is spread with freshly baked muffins, melting moments, cakes, and a tart of the day, while the epic all-day brekky menu includes an incredible eggy French toast with cream, berries and maple syrup.
The Attic
Welcome back to a coffee fanatic’s paradise. The Attic in Freo is well worth a visit, with the food, coffee and vibes being just a few reasons why. Run by the legends who also brought us Louis Baxters in Subi, you know you’re in good hands when you walk into this spot (and they love pooches, so bring along your fluffy pal).
