Unfortunately, grocery shopping is part of our daily lives, but it’s not all about the big chain supermarkets, people.The Herdsman in Churchlands is one of the best gourmet supermarkets in Perth and with a deli, bakery, butcher and florist, there’s no way you’re leaving empty handed. The staff here try each and every one of the products stocked to give it their tick of approval, and it shows! It's hard to say what are favourite section of the supermarkets is, but we know for sure that their picnic hamper which includes cheese, meats, salads, dips, bread AND crackers is a winner! It all comes in a handy little thermo bag so you can grab it on your way to the picnic—that's what we call winning.
Renos On St Quentin
Hair salon Renos On St Quentin is sitting pretty in Claremont Quarter and is doing a stellar job keeping the ladies and gents of Claremont looking their best. The salon is b-e-a-utiful, the team here is next level amazing and it's the only place where you will actually hope to get left at the basin for a while because you get to watch all your fave rom-coms (with sub-titles of course) while you get your hair washed. The team here will have you feeling like a whole new person in no time.
Cott & Co
There aren’t too many things that are better than sitting down to lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean in Cottesloe on a stunning Perth day and one of the best spots to do this is Cott & Co. Overlooking Cottesloe beach, the modern and stylish restaurant has a rustic feel, while still feeling breezy, fun and beachy. The menu is all about local and seasonal produce here, with seafood the star attraction.
Crow Books
Crow Books in East Victoria Park is a delightful little Perth bookstore. The shelves are packed with hard-to-find books and popular reads, and their staff recommendations are pretty spot on. This place has that amazing old book smell that makes you want to curl up with a tea and a bloody good read. P.S. Look for the cookie dough diet book!
Diabolik Books & Records
Diabolik Books & Records is another little pop culture hive in Mount Hawthorn. Among the fiction and non-fiction reads, you’ll find a quality selection of comic books and graphic novels, lowbrow, art and music tomes, notebooks, games and gifts. And on top of all that they stock a killer selection of records—it’s got everything you’d want from a bookstore and more!
Planet Books
Planet Books is all that remains of the once booming pop culture corner of Mount Lawley and we hope it stays put for years to come because it is one of our favourite Perth bookstores. With an impressive fiction collection, including everything from the classics to modern best sellers, and an even more impressive range of non-fiction books (the cookbook collection is madness), the guys at Planet are super sweet and always willing to throw a recommendation your way.
The Claremont Barber
This barbershop will leave the lads feeling phresshhhh so you can walk around town with that extra little bit of swagger you never knew you had. Housed behind the ever so popular Brooklyn Lounge, this bad boy will allow you to eat a burger straight after your sweet old school shave.
Bagels & Beans
The name says it all folks, Bagels & Beans in West Perth is the perfect place to stop off for lunch or brekky on a work day and pick up some delicious freshly baked breads and a good brew. They've got bagels galore as well as fresh wraps and a wide range of salads to choose from.
Academy
Academy in Claremont is serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner using only the highest quality ingredients. Head chef Jay Tesorero who used to cook for the stars (like ABBA... seriously!) has found a new home in Claremont and we're loving it. Academy is a little bit fancy but with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere—the perfect combination if you ask us. Their breakfast menu looks so delicious but it's the dinner menu that has us excited. We'll take the lamb cutlets with green pea puree, chèvre, red wine jus and chat potatoes please.
First Avenue Kitchen & Home
Stocking some of the best homewares, gifts and accessories in Perth, it's definitely worth the drive up the hill to visit First Avenue Kitchen & Home in Kalamunda. Think luxe cookware (hello Chasseur), a massive range of furniture, candles, soft furnishings and everything you need to make your home that little bit more special. Be warned, your time and money will disappear quickly when you visit First Avenue!
Life Less Ordinary
Life Less Ordinary in Wembley is full of beautiful homewares, jewellery and gifts. Grab your daily brew from Workshop Espresso next door and then treat yourself to something pretty. These guys also stock some of the most amazing scented candles and hand creams so you'll walk out feeling all sorts of relaxed.
Henry On Eighth
Henry on Eighth is keeping the Maylands locals caffeinated, fed and a little bit boozy every day of the week. This cafe come bar is dishing up rad coffee, delish bites and some killer cocktails. The place is uber cool and is the kind of bar you want to spend the entire afternoon in having a quiet drink. Hit them up for a cocktail on the weekend or breakfast if you're more of a morning person.
Bowl’n
Bowl'n in Perth put smoothies in a bowl and they do it well! These bad boys are the latest craze to hit the healthy freaks' to-do lists and we can't get enough of them either. Pick a smoothie base, choose some fruit, seeds and berries and voila! You've got yourself a delicious and healthy brekky on the go. These peeps also do some of the best salads and lunch bowls as well as a wicked cold brew.
Mad Dogs Jungle Bar
Mad Dogs Jungle Bar is a small bar in Perth's CBD and is basically the perfect Friday night drink spot. Think rad drinks, tasty bites likes burgers and wings and an awesome vibe. The crew here also rock out on Saturday nights with a DJ spinning tunes and do a few mid-week deals which seem like the perfect excuse for a Monday outing.
No Lights No Lycra | Perth
No Lights No Lycra in Perth is THE place to go to truly dance like no one is watching—because it's pitch black and no one is watching! Every Monday night at Leederville Town Hall you can put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away—alcohol free and judgment free. While it might take a song or two to get into it the first couple of times you go, by the end of the party you'll be counting down the days until the next week!

Park and Vine in City Beach is a true locals' spot where you can pop in for breakfast after a beach run or hit it up for date night or a drink with the gals. You can easily while away a whole night here with a glass of wine in hand a few sharing dishes, or stroll in on Sunday and take your pick from their delish all day brunch menu. If you're in need of a new morning coffee hook-up before work make sure you try out Mercado Negro on Pier street in our CBD. They have a massive range of sweets and treats for those of you who like to indulge in the morning but also some savory goodies that they serve up during lunch. The decor is cool, edgy and colourful and features a hectic blackboard wall to feast your eyes on. FYI: they also get a Top Dup doughnut delivery mid week. You're welcome.

Head into the The Grove Library to find this hidden gem tucked away amongst all the books. They have daily specials for you to scope out so you can go back every day and never get bored!

Virgil
This classic little cafe is the perfect place for your regular morning cup of joe. The guys and gals behind the counter welcome you with a smile and whip up your order pronto. You can have a gander in their cabinet to see if there's a sweet treat that tickles your fancy or wait outside in the sunshine and they'll pass your beverage through the window.
La Fattoria
The hills are alive with the sound of rustic Sicilian food and plenty of Italian wine thanks to La Fattoria in Pickering Brook. Get down there pronto for lunch, just like Nonna makes it, and vino from La Fattoria's very own vines. Don't forget to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies from the orchard on your way out.

Lamonts has expanded to include a delightful little cafe in the Swan Valley where you can get tasty meals to go, a good range of cheeses, freshly baked bread, dips and so much more. Little Lamonts Express also do excellent coffee!

A Mediterranean restaurant with a French twist, Bloody French in Subiaco is serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner and the locals are lapping it up. With BYO night on Monday nights, $10 espresso martinis on Friday and one heck of a wine list, we can understand why they'd want to keep this place their little secret!
Cafe New Orleans
The team behind Cafe New Orleans is bringing Southern-inspired soul food to the people of Fremantle and they are loving it. Located in Freo’s west end, they’re dishing up Cajun and creole cuisine with locally roasted coffee and sweet treats. Get yourself a po'boy filled with meat, cajun mayo and Louisiana hot sauce or some waffles with fried chicken and call it a day.
Exhale Espresso
Exhale Espresso on Lord Street in Perth is a coffee shop and pilates studio all in one, so you can go for a sweat sesh and follow it up with breakfast. The food is fresh, simple and freakin' delicious and the coffee is excellent. The pink pitaya and mango smoothie is probably the prettiest drink we've ever seen and it tastes just as good as it looks!
Sohe Thai Fusion
Sohe Thai Fusion in Bicton is dishing out modern Thai food and everything is absolutely drool-worthy. The mango salad is one of the freshest and tastiest things you'll ever eat and the fried rice is also pretty exceptional. If you're a south-sider we think Sohe might just become your new local.
96 Degrees
A new addition to the North Beach cafe scene, 96 degrees is brewing some of the best coffee in Perth. Specialising in quality coffee, they have their own bespoke blend and a cold drip nitrogen-infused coffee that'll knock your socks off.
Lil’ Toastface
Toastface Grillah got a little brother and he lives in Northbridge! Lil’ Toastface has opened in the space that used to be Bookend and is dishing out a slightly smaller menu of delicious toasties. If you've never had the pleasure of biting into one of their toasties, do yourself a favour and get here immediately. They're only open for lunch at the moment, but word on the street is they'll be opening in the evening soon enough. Yasss!
Tong 86
You've probably walked past Tong 86 a million times and never noticed it or been tempted to go inside, but let me tell you, this is one of Perth's best Korean BBQ joints. Yes, you sit on dodgy old chairs and yes, the interiors are nothing to write home about, but the food is delicious. Especially the kimchi stew and the kimchi pancake (fan, much?). Make sure you dip your BBQ meats in the peppery peanut oil dressing and wrap them up in a lettuce leaf, it's so good!
Frank’d Hot Dogs
Yet another Northbridge restaurant we love, Frank'd Hotdogs are dishing out top quality hotdogs left right and centre to all the hungry peeps in Northbridge. With the best of the best bratwurst from Elmar's and buns from Organic Loafers you know these are gonna be dee-licious! Take your pick from one of the 12 flavour combos on offer and why not grab a side of chilli cheese fries while you're there?
Little Cheese Shop
Little Cheese Shop in Bayswater is dedicated to everything cheese related! With specialty cheeses from all over the world this adorable little shop on Whatley Crescent also stocks cheese knives, boards and quirky knick knacks for anyone with a penchant for the yellow yummy stuff. No need to worry about putting together a cheese board for your next party, the Little Cheese Shop can do this for you, they’ll even help you host a cheese event in your home. Pop in for a visit the next chance you get and sample the goods.

Drift Kitchen in Scarborough is whipping up simple, fresh and tasty food as well as brewing awesome coffee from Leftfield. Their menus are all about seriously good food: whether you're indulging in a sit-down meal or something on the go, we can't get enough.
Mr Fox On William
Mr Fox on William in Northbridge are dishing out all sorts of delicious eats. If you're looking for a healthy hit, try the green bowl which is full of brown rice and quinoa, avo, peas, spinach and sprouts, all topped with Thai pesto and a poached egg. If you'd prefer something more decadent, you need to try their mac and cheese waffles—yep, waffles sandwiched with real mac and cheese, served with fried chicken and maple syrup! Mr Fox also makes a mean crema brulee coffee. Run, don't walk.
The Rose & Crown Hotel
The Rose & Crown in Guildford is the oldest hotel in the state and the third oldest licensed hotel in Australia! Wowza! Head down for one of those amazing pub feeds followed by a drink at the classic, old school bar. Even though the hotel has been renovated, it still carries that classic charm within its walls and it is the most relaxing place to meet a group of friends.
Recess On Barrack
Recess On Barrack in Perth is serving up delicious coffee, bagels, pastries and a few other goodies. The polished concrete floors, colourful coffee cups and #allofthegreenery will draw you in the first time but you'll be back time and time again for the coffee.

It's all about Dutchy goodness at The Dutch Butcher in Welshpool! We're talking gourmet sandwiches, cheese, meats and all of the baked goods. Our top tip? Don't go shopping here when you're hungry unless you want to be the proud owner of the entire store. They can also take care of catering for those special occasions when you need a helping hand!

Each strand of Noodle Forum's noodley goodness is created by hand and by golly it is delicious. They've got their own noodle master who has been a pro since the 60's as well as a head chef who takes over to cook the delicious meals. The little restaurant in Shafto Lane in Perth's CBD is our new favourite lunchtime haunt! We'll take 5 of the Malaysian Spicy Chicken with noodles please!!
Cafe 2TwentyFour
Freak-shake lovers rejoice - this place is going to knock your socks off! Not only do the mega freak-shakes at Belmont's Cafe 2TwentyFour reel in peeps from all over Perth, but the remainder of their menu is pretty spot on too. We'd recommend a Golden Gaytime megashake along with the pulled pork eggs benny. Make sure you head down super early, this place gets busy.
The Modern Eatery | Mount Lawley
Mount Lawley restaurant The Modern Eatery specialises in Aburi sushi—a style where the fish is partially cooked with a blow torch and partially raw, resulting in a subtle buttery and smokey flavour. They serve up fresh and delicious Aburi sushi alongside a good range of uramaki, sashimi, nigari and tempura. Try one of the elaborately named and made craft rolls while you sip on 12-year-old Japanese whiskey. Perfect.
The Honeycake
A whole store full of Honeycake... what more could you ask for? Layers upon layers of crumbly, creamy goodness. Located in the newly refurbished state buildings alongside Sue Lewis Chocolatier and Sugarplum Sweets (drool), The Honeycake is your one-stop-shop for buying, ordering, tasting and trying all things Honeycake—including Honeycake cheesecake! You honestly don't even need to think about going anywhere else in Perth.
Chilli Panda
Not your average Chinese restaurant, Chilli Panda in Northbridge have really hit the nail on the head. If you’re a spice fiend, you will straight up love this place, every dish is loaded up with tons of chilli (don't say we didn't warn you). We'd recommend a Hunan Signature rice noodle or soup dish for your next Chinese fix. You won't be disappointed.
Mason & Bird
Kalamunda cafe Mason & Bird is putting the hills on the culinary map in a serious way. The brain child of Print Hall's former head chef, Brad Johnston, his partner Jacklyn Noel and the ex-venue and bar manager of Rockpool, Matt Nguyen, Mason & Bird is less fine dining and more of a casual affair but with the same wow-worthy flavours you'd expect from these guys.
F45 Training | Perth
For a different workout each time you visit, hit up Perth gym F45 Training in the CBD. One of the top destinations for HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and small group personal training in Perth, F45 Training will keep you in tip-top condition year-round. The classes are made up of cardio, circuit, resistance and boxing and are all 45 minutes long. You’ll work hard, but the results will be worth it. Check out the website for class times and details.
Ibiza N2
Ibiza N2 in Mount Lawley is Perth's first nitrogen gelato shop and it's seriously impressive! The crew here use liquid nitrogen to flash freeze gelato right in front of your eyes so you get the smoothest, freshly churned gelato ever. They also make some seriously delicious churros and all sorts of fun drinks like pistachio white hot chocolates and Spanish hot chocolates.
Gami Chicken & Beer
For some of the best Korean fried chicken in Perth look no further than Gami Fried Chicken & Beer tucked into Shafto Lane.
Phoever
We love a restaurant with a quirky name, so Canning Vale's Phoever gets our vote. These guys have five different types of pho to choose from—our tip is the pho trio, which has beef, chicken and pork. All the food comes out super fast and is ridiculously delicious. The decor is nothing fancy but when the food is this good, who cares.
Magna Pizza | Mount Hawthorn
Magna Pizza—one of our fave Freo pizza joints—has opened up in Mount Hawthorn and is dishing out their delicious (and seriously good value) pizza using natural traditional ingredients. Letting the dough rise for at least 36 hours, the pizza is sublime and extremely digestible—always a plus! Our top picks include the Poppea—4 cheeses, sage and walnuts—and the Cicerone—Bolognese sauce, mozzarella, sausages, hot salami and capsicum.
Tak Chee House
Make sure you add Tak Chee House on William Street in Northbridge to your Asian food bucket list. The team here serve up one of the best Hainanese chicken rice dishes in the whole of Perth and a load of delicious crispy noodle dishes. This some of the most authentic Malaysian we've come across in Perth and it's pretty cheap to boot.
Bayside Kitchen
Bayside Kitchen, sister to the fabulous Matilda Bay Restaurant, has just been renovated and is looking more snazzy than ever. Sit back, relax, take in the view and order one of the most epic burgers we've ever seen. If you're more of an early riser, Bayside's brekky game is strong and the pancakes are insane. Everything is fresh, vibrant and colourful and we can't get enough of this place.
Harvest Boulangerie Patisserie
We love our bread, we love our butter but most of all we love Harvest Boulangerie Patisserie in Scarborough! There's a reason people queue up outside the door here—and it's mostly because of those amazing baguettes and the heavenly smell they produce while they're baking. One bite and you’ll forget about your daily calorie intake. They also do amazing croissants and sweet treats and the coffee here is delish.
Woodpeckers
Raclette exists in Perth and it’s in Subiaco at Woodpeckers. What’s raclette you say? Just a GIANT wheel of cheese which is heated so that the melted part can be scraped off until all your cheesy dreams come true. The team here also do super delish pizzas and it is BYO so grab a bottle of wine and then go and stuff yourself full of cheesy goodness. If you want the raclette, make sure you book in advance.
Saint Larry Cafe
From the mastermind behind Halford Bar and The Standard comes one of our fave additions to Cathedral Square, Saint Larry. A hole-in-the-wall cafe at the City of Perth Library, this place is serving up epic coffee as well as sandwiches and salads that’ll blow your mind. It’s no wonder Saint Larry is a firm favourite among the city folk.
The Yoga Space | Sorrento
For a tradish yoga experience straight out of India head to The Yoga Space in Sorrento. The head yogis from this lovely little studio right on the beach offer classes in the Ashtanga led, Vinyasa and Yin styles, as well as pregnancy yoga and beginners courses. This is definitely a yoga studio with a killer view which feeds the soul.
Kafka Coffee Shop
Kafka popped up in Northbridge with their totally insta-worthy dip dyed coffee cups and stole our (Instagram) hearts. Well worth the trip to that slightly neglected side of Northbridge, the coffee is epic and you can have a browse through the design work as Kafka shares a space with (and is owned by the same creative duo as) design studio Nude Design.
Okay Vietnamese
This place should not be called ‘Okay Vietnamese’. It should be called ‘Friggen Amazing Vietnamese That’s So Good I Want To Go Every Night’. That probably won’t fit on the sign on their door though… If you try this Northbridge joint out you'll want to order the pho of course. Expect a big bowl of delicious, hearty, traditional pho for only $11.50. Pho-nomenal.
Restaurant Amusé
One of Perth’s most acclaimed restaurants, Hadleigh and Carolynne Troy sure know how to put together an innovative and flavourful degustation menu. A gastronomic marathon of fresh local produce, several different cultures and of course, limited edition wines, the food at Restaurant Amusé is quite simply, outstanding. Tucked away in a residential area of East Perth, be prepared for one of the most special meals you’ll ever tuck into.
