If you're looking for a feel-good, old-school Italian feed, Allegro Pizza in Claremont has you covered. They offer dine-in, takeaway or delivery options but we reckon it's the perfect place to pop in and pick up a piping hot, delicious woodfired pizza for a night on the couch. They've got all your faves and plenty more interesting options but beware, this place gets busy so get your order in early.

This retro diner-style pizzeria has found itself a happy home in Northbridge and with over 23 scrumptious pizzas to choose from, Dough’s growing legion of fans are pretty happy too. Inspired by the authentic aromas, taste and craftsmanship of pizza found on the streets of Naples, the pizza at Dough is top notch. They also have some seriously delish dessert pizzas like the Nutella Calzone – a folded pizza filled with Nutella and walnuts and served with a scoop of vanilla gelato. Droooool!

Homely and unpretentious, follow your nose down Williams Lane in Northbridge and get ready to tuck into pasta just like Nonna makes. One of Perth's best Italian restaurants, Francoforte Spaghetti Bar is a fave with Northbridge locals.

When it comes to Italian food, La Sosta in Fremantle is as authentic as it comes. The pastas are oozing with flavour and made with love—nothing really beats a big, hearty bowl of carbs, right? The staff at La Sosta are every bit charismatic and charming as you would expect from a traditional Italian restaurant. A great spot for families too, don't leave without trying the tiramisu—there's always room for dessert! This place feels like a warm hug from Nonna so for real deal Italian food, save on the airfare and give this place a try.

Capitalising on Perth’s infatuation with American cuisine, East Village is bringing an American style diner experience (but with cocktails – hurrah!) to Railway Lane in Perth City. Named after the popular NYC borough, East Village’s authentic menu offering is a celebration of the best of NYC cuisine - pizza, burgers, hotdogs, Ruebens and Buffalo wings. Not for the diet-conscious!

Comforting and homely, eating at Threecoins Italian Trattoria in Mount Lawley is just like being at Nonna's house. Owned and run by the Trequattrini family (the English translation is Threecoins), this Mount Lawley gem is a cosy little joint dishing out authentic regional Italian cuisine. Ticking all the boxes - red and white checked tablecloths, a wood-fired pizza oven and super friendly Italian staff - Threecoins Italian Trattoria might just become your new fave Italian restaurant in Perth.

For an epic food challenge which rivals what you’ve seen on Man v. Food head to Perth burger joint, Novembars Cafe in Dianella. Serving up Perth’s hottest and biggest burgers, Novembars Cafe have two burger eating challenges, the chilli-hot Red Face Runny Nose (which has reportedly hospitalised two diners) and the Fat Boy Burger (which goes up in price the longer you take to eat it). There’s also a $1000 burger on the menu which features a whopping 101 beef patties, 100 slices of bacon and two T-bone steaks.

Deen Street BBQ in Northbridge serve some of the biggest, baddest, juiciest and most delicious ribs and meaty goodness in Perth. This droolworthy meat house, also serves up mac n cheese, American brisket and salads (but honestly who goes to an American BBQ to get a salad?). With their traditional meat smoker on display for everyone to see, the place has an authentic and rustic vibe! Don’t forget to wet your whistle if you’re in the mood—Deen Street have a lengthy selection of beverages on offer.

Soda Cafe got a facelift and is now looking better than ever as North Beach Deli! The winning breakfasts, lunches and dinners (as well as the stunning views) are still going strong, but they’ve also expanded into a deli with take-home charcuterie, cheese, house-baked bread, salads and ready-to-go meals. Churros have been spotted on the brekky menu and some old classics have stuck around for lunch. Pop down for an early breakfast or a late lunch and perhaps a cheeky drink or two.

A cafe that has absolutley nailed the coffee game, Chapter Twenty Seven is the kind of place we could spend all day at. The shiny new interiors really hit the nail on the head and the baked goods are beyond amazing!

When your next burger craving rolls around head to Perth burger bar, Varsity Burgers in Northbridge. This American-style burger joint serves up some of the most artery thickening meals in Perth. There’s the Presley, a double cheeseburger with bacon, crunchy peanut butter and smashed banana, or the McFly, a spicy burger with bacon, tobacco onions, jalapeños and Dr Paul's Smoked Habanero sauce. C’mon, throw all your diet plans out the window, you know you want to!

Located on Essex Street in Freo, Istanbul Turkish Restaurant offers a traditional slice of Turkey to Perth diners. From the delicious dips, to the tender kebabs, to the baklava and turkish delight, the food here is the real deal. Rock up on the weekend and you might get a side of belly dancing with your dinner.

Relaxed, romantic and oozing Freo cool, North Freo's Habitue is fast becoming one of Perth's foodie hot spots. Using only the freshest local produce, the unique Mediterranean-style eats are delicious and the accompanying wine list is spot on. Habitue features live music from local and international acts on a regulat basic. Gorgeous food, wine and music in a beautiful setting? What could be better.

Perth bar, Vin and Oli, really embodies the vibe of Fremantle: free-spirited, cosy and uber relaxed. 

Cute little Queen Street fitness studio Box & Bike is a popular lunchtime workout spot in town. Their 45-minutes, high-intensity classes incorporate, you guessed it, boxing and spin biking into a high calorie burning workout which improves fitness, boxing technique and body composition. Don’t forget your boxing gloves!

There’s more buzz around the continental roll at Morley's Charlie’s Fresh Food Market than a nude Kardashian selfie. But don’t stop there. This cafe is serving up coffee, cake and all sorts of sambos for your lunch time cravings. When you’re done in the cafe, whip out your shopping bag and stock up on some fresh pasta and all the fresh and cured meats you could ever dream of!

One of Perth's foodie hot spots, Typika offers up an inventive and epic all-day menu—think crispy fried chicken with guacamole, spiced beef benedict, and black sticky rice with mango and coconut yoghurt. Roasted on site, coffee is at the heart of this Claremont cafe and Perth folk are travelling from afar to get their mits on a cup of the good stuff. The shared-table seating creates a cosy atmosphere and best of all, it will also give you a nice view of your neighbour's meal. Beware the #foodenvy—this is one of the best cafes in Perth for breakfast. 

A swanky dining den situated beneath the art deco Lawson apartment building, Balthazar is the Perth restaurant for wining and dining in style.

When only a glamorous jazz-era atmosphere will do, The Laneway Lounge is hard to beat. Tucked away in a laneway across from Shafto lane in the CBD, this sophisticated vintage-styled lounge and cocktail bar offers three distinct sections for its loyal throng of clientele; the lounge, where the VIPs pop champagne corks in their private booths, the bar, where mixologists churn out Smoked Chocolate Sazeracs and Mad Hatter’s Tea with ease, and the dining room and live music hall out back, which is perfect for some soulful R&B tunes and the occasional smooth jazz whilst chowing down on some “Love Bites”.

Tucked away in the Fremantle Arts Centre, Canvas Cafe serves up Middle Eastern delicacies in a stunning garden setting. A legitimate hidden gem, the menu star is the signature Red Shakshuka – two eggs poached in a 16-hour tomato sauce, served with fresh herbs, marinated olives, herbed butter and bread. Drool!

If you've ever worked in the Perth CBD, no doubt Taka's Kitchen is one of your regular lunch spots. With good food, fast, no-fuss service and some of Perth's cheapest Japanese it's no wonder this place is packed every single day.

A Freo favourite, the creative menu, gorgeous warehouse interior, buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff make Bread in Common one of Perth's best restaurants. The philosophy of this Packenham Street haunt revolves around bread and communal dining, with a focus on house made and locally sourced seasonal produce. Go for brekky, stay for lunch and buy some bread for the way home!

Everyone has heard of Annalakshmi on Perth’s Barrack Street Jetty. This cheap and cheerful, “pay as you feel” Perth Indian restaurant will satisfy with its hit-the-spot vegetarian buffet. Annalakshmi is run entirely by volunteers, so when you’re paying up don’t be stingy—we don’t want these guys going out of business. Be sure to try the mango lassi if it’s offered to you!

Perth's favourite Cocowhip food truck Coco Lycious is dishing up Cocowhip at all the foodie events around town. They also have a regular spot at the Inglewood night markets so you don't have to wait too long between visits. 

Located on Marmion Street in East Freo, this hip and homely Perth cafe dishes out some of the best coffee in Freo. Not to be outdone, their food menu is pretty great too - serving everything from beefy burgers to cakes that look too cute to eat. 9 Seeds may be a little off the beaten track, but locals know a good things when they find it.

Health freaks rejoice - Manna Wholefoods and Cafe is your new go-to. Filled to the brim with organic salads, freshly squeezed juices, healthy lunches, vegan and gluten free cakes, and RAWSOME treats, half of the cafe is a wholefoods store which stocks plenty of organic produce and products. Go for a healthy brekky, buy your organic produce and feel smug all day long.

You'll feel like you’ve been thrown into an episode of True Blood in the new bar that is Alabama Song…just without the vampires and stuff. This awesome Northbridge dive bar brings all the elements of America's deep south to Perth, and we are loving it. 

Ahoy ahoy, all aboard Rodney’s Bait and Tackle. This ship is sailing in Mosman Park and buoy oh buoy it’s a ripper. Everything from the tables and chairs, the fixtures on the ceiling and the enormous boat that is in the middle of the bar is on point. The bar menu isn’t the biggest boat in the harbour, but they've got the basics—pies, chips, bar snacks and $2 slices of pizza. The long list of wines, beers and small array of cocktails is just enough for everyone to enjoy while listening to the live bands on board. Hands down, one of the best bars in Perth.

Laidback and quirky, Perth cafe Il Cibo is a beautiful Market Street cafe that dishes out Freo cool in spades. Drop in for a coffee or stay for brekky or lunch - Il Cibo's bench is always a visual feast of fresh and colourful salads, frittatas, muffins sandwiches and sweet treats.

One of three eateries sharing the historic warehouse feel of The Mantle, this Freo fave dishes out delicious (and seriously good value) pizza using natural traditional ingredients. Letting the dough rise for at least 36 hours, the pizza is sublime and extremely digestible (always a plus!). Our top picks include the Poppea (4 cheeses, sage and walnuts) and the Cicerone (Bolognese sauce, mozzarella, sausages, hot salami and capsicum).

One of our fave Freo cafes, Chalky’s Espresso Bar in Fremantle’s West End sums up what makes our port city so special - heritage buildings, great coffee and some killer people watching. Located within the gorgeous Fremantle Municipal Tramways Building, pop in for a coffee (they're brewing Dukes here) or stay for the epic all-day brunch and free Wi-fi. The Hock - a delicious mess of poached eggs, master stock braised pork hock, potato and artichoke gratin with housemade hollaindaise - is spectacular.

A longtime must for vino lovers, the iconic Must Winebar in Highgate, has just announced they'll be closing their doors after twenty years of service.

Indian restaurant, Anghiti, in Innaloo has plenty of competition in the vicinity but they still manage to pull in the regulars. Tuck into their curries (adjust the spice for your tastes) and some quality naan—it’s no wonder these guys are award winners.

Named after the 7 main spices used in Indian cooking, 7 Spices Indian restaurant in Applecross is home to some of the best curry south of the river. With plenty of old faves (we really struggle to go past the chicken tikka masala!), those who visit on a Friday or Saturday night can get their fill from the buffet for $35. Bargain! 

You’d be hard pressed to find a view better than that from Matilda Bay Restaurant on the banks of the Swan River in Crawley. Not super fancy, but not super casual either, this Perth date-night staple serves up tasty modern Australian cuisine and boasts an impressive wine list. Take advantage of the view and book a table for an early dinner to watch the sun go down.

Whip It Good is whipping up some of the most delicious looking Cocowhip at the Fremantle Markets every weekend. Topped with their raw goodies or crazy yummy raw donuts from Raw Kook, this place is a must-visit next time you find yourself at the Freo Markets. 

If your body is in need of a little TLC head to Applecross' LIVe Pilates. One of the best Pilates studios in Perth the studio offers matwork, reformer, stretch and barre classes. They've even got a physio on-site, so your bod will be in rockin’ shape in no time at all. LIVe Pilates is also the leading Stott Pilates and Total Barre training facility in Perth, so if you’ve ever thought about becoming a Pilates instructor this is the place to go.

Mod-Asian restaurant Fuyu has opened its doors in Nedlands and with David Coomer at its head we have reason to be excited. The genius behind Star Anise and Pata Negra, you can expect top quality food but the vibe is a little more relaxed. Think dumplings and drinks at the bar and you’re on the right track.

It's rare to find a Perth cafe open after 4pm and for that alone, we are fans of C15 Espresso. What sweetens the deal is one of the best (and most unique looking!) apple tarts we have ever tasted. Open for brekky, lunch and dinner, pop in for a coffee or stay for a meal but do yourself a favour and try the apple tart.

For all your late-night cake cravings, Greens & Co in Leederville have you covered. Grab coffee and a slice of cheesecake, cosy up on a comfy couch and play some board games with friends. It doesn't get much better than this!

Possibly one of the coolest little health nooks in Perth, The Growers have everything the modern day hippy could want. Tucked into Shafto Lane, their protein smoothies and bliss balls are just as delicious as they are healthy. If you’re in need of a mid-week pick-me-up there are one and two day cleanses up for grabs, perfect for city workers on the run.

Perth Japanese joint, Nao Japanese on Murray Street is your friendly local Ramen dealer. Line up with the rest of the Japanese noodle soup addicts to get your hands on these bowls of perfection. Trust us, they are unbelievably good! The only downside here is that they're not open late – so plan accordingly. 

Tucked down Second Ave Plaza off Beaufort Street, Seven Willow Designs is a unique interior design studio and combined retail space. It offers bespoke furniture design and interior design consultation, as well as a curated collection of original artwork, homewares, bespoke soy candles, jewellery and women’s clothing. These luxurious items are sourced from around the globe and will add a unique, beautiful and functional touch to any home.

A mother and daughter team have extended their home and personal style into Perth boutique Ginger Morris on South Terrace – an eclectic store combining old and new, with no rules or boundaries. It is packed with items they find beautiful or interesting, with a range including antique and contemporary furniture, rugs, glassware, homewares and collectables, as well as stationery, children’s items, women’s clothing and jewellery.

If you’ve got a craving for some good old Italian comfort food, head along to popular Perth Italian restaurant, Il Ciao in Applecross. The Perruzza family has run the pizzeria since 1998, and is responsible for the relaxed vibe, wood-fired pizza and fresh homemade pasta. They’ve also recently secured a liquor license, making this the perfect place for a casual family meal or a dinner with friends.

Since 1972, Perth pizza joint Chelsea Pizza has been serving up traditional yeast-free, thin crust pizzas. The relaxed spot in Chelsea Village on Stirling Highway in Nedlands offers a range of time-honoured and gourmet toppings, alongside pastas and other traditional Italian fare. Both dine in and takeaway are available, and the cute cafe is licensed, so you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine with your meal.

For a deliciously simple pizza that’s fresh and healthy, you can’t go past Perth pizza joint, Marco’s Organic Pizza in Joondanna – people have been returning time and time again since 1976. The focus on organic produce means these pizzas are healthier, more sustainable and a hell of a lot tastier than your average takeaway. The extensive menu has classic and gourmet pizzas, as well as a make your own option, all on a crunchy crust made from San Francisco sourdough. 

Amazing cakes and delicious pizzas, dished up with a smile, are just a couple of the reasons that Perth cafe Pizzaca in Scarborough has such a loyal following. The doors open up at 8am and an all-day breakfast is available until 3pm, with Fiori coffee, juices and smoothies alongside tasty buttermilk hotcakes, free range eggs, and a delightful breakfast tasting plate. From 5pm, it's all about the wood-fired pizza which we think is some of the best in Perth.

Head to Perth bar, The Royal, in East Perth for an after work drink with a view. Airy and spacious, there's a bunch of plasma TV's, so whether you’re having a quiet drink while watching the world go by or watching the footy with mates, there’s space for everyone. The Royal is one of the few bars in Perth serving Colonial beers on tap, and they go down nicely with the Modern Australian lunch and dinner menu. The pizzas here are some of the best in Perth!

Born from a love of coffee, Perth cafe Felix & Co in Nedlands sources the best beans from roasters around Australia, focusing on seasonal fresh crop blends and single origins. They use the Japanese-originated Pour Over method which is gaining in popularity – it takes patience but offers a much more rewarding and flavourful experience. Why not order something from their breakfast or lunch menus (or a delicious treat from their counter top) to give yourself the time to really enjoy your morning brew.

Undoubtedly one of Perth’s go-to date spots, the dim-lit and vibing Bill's Bar & Bites boasts a speccy food and drinks menu that will make it hard not to over-order (if there’s such a thing).

Iconic Perth pub, The Rosemount Hotel is a live music venue that’s had a facelift, broadening its appeal for quality pub dinners and lazy Sunday sessions. It was one of the first places in Perth to support original artists, and on any given day you’ll find a band or DJ, themed nights, market days, drink specials or independent events. The spacious outdoor courtyard (or backyard, as they call it) in North Perth serves up fresh food made with quality ingredients—think pizzas, steak, hearty salads and sandwiches. The Rosie really does hold a special place in many a Perthians heart.

Perth doughnut joint, Levi’s, offer delicious handmade European style doughnuts served up warm and fresh from stall Y7 at the Fremantle markets on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. These doughnuts will remind you of your childhood, and are the perfect pick-me-up after a busy day exploring Freo. The delicious treats are available in traditional style, or filled with either blackberry jam or real dark chocolate, and coated in cinnamon sugar. They're just begging to be devoured.

Craft beer bar, Caboose, is adding a whole lot of yeasty goodness to Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley. They're pouring all sorts of craft beer with 12 taps rotating different beers every few days. The space has serious man cave vibes—think dark, unpretentious and comfortable—and there's a beer garden and alfresco area if you’d prefer some sunshine. If you need some bites to go with your beer the crew here are dishing out toasties, fried chicken, meats and cheese, and they’re also doing some killer take away toastie and squealers (that's a one litre growler FYI) specials so you can get some nosh and your fave craft beer to go. Winning.

A long-time Applecross favourite, Gucce Fine Italian Cuisine is a stylish little haunt serving up home-made pasta, authentic wood-fired pizzas and Mediterranean-style eats (we recommend the gnocchi and the barramundi). The generous servings will leave you feeling warm, fuzzy and full of Italian amore.

A true diamond in the rough, this adorable little Applecross cafe dishes out excellent coffee, homemade cakes and healthy brekky and lunch eats every day of the week. The folk behind this cafe pride themselves on making everything from scratch and if the quality of food is anything to go by, we reckon they're on to something.
