Hidden in a Northbridge laneway, Flora & Fauna dishes up the prettiest plates of vegan brunching goodness alongside baked loaves from Every Day Bread and vegan pastries from W.H.I.P Patisserie. They recently moved from their tiny little hole-in-the-wall to a larger space in the same laneway, so you’ll now find plenty of space indoors as well (in case you’re not so keen to brave the sunshine this summer). Oh and if you ever see something about a vegan high tea, grab tickets immediately—they pop up from time to time and always sell out because they're that popular.

The team are always cooking up a seasonal storm at Petition Kitchen, so hands down it's still one the best spot to break your fast in the CBD. Good coffee, a daring (but not too daring) breakfast menu and the gorgeous interior of the State Buildings should have this spot front-of-mind for hungry city-goers.
Dine By Arrival Hall
Northbridge
Part sleek design store, part cool cafe, Arrival Hall is serving up some of the most aesthetically pleasing plates around Perth. You won’t find any eggs benny or big breakfasts here, though. The menu is sophisticated, refined and packed full of unique flavour combos that will surprise and delight. If you’re chasing a piece of edible art, you can’t go past their Jerusalem artichokes and avocado on toast—it’s one of the most ‘grammable brekkies we’ve ever cast our eyes on.

If the crowds of people hovering outside every weekend don’t already tip you off, believe us when we say this spot from the old tbsp. crew is an absolute winner. The menu has a heavy Asian influence backed by exceptional coffee and their trademark cakes, croissants, and baked treats. From xo scrambled eggs and shokupan french toast to tonkotsu congee and a mind blowing katsu sando, there’s loads to tuck into beyond your standard smashed avo and we’re in love with each and every one of them.

If you thought the bountiful Roman brekky banquet at Garum was just for hotel guests, let us set you straight. This lavish $45 all-you-can-eat breakfast is such an underrated gem in the CBD, with everything from frittata, crispy potatoes and scrambled eggs to continental meats, antipasti, wholesome salads and sweet treats like cannoli and croissants. Come hungry.
Sayers Sister

Sayers Sister doesn’t put a foot wrong when it comes to the most important meal of the day and it’s no secret that this is one of the best cafes in Northbridge. Constantly packed with hungry hoards looking to get their hands on a Bloody Mary and a Full Breakfast, this Lake Street eatery dishes out the sort of top notch meals we’ve come to expect from the Sayers name, like perfectly poached eggs, green pea and ricotta pikelets and toasted coconut bread with lemon curd.

Trust us, Dianella's go-to neighbourhood cafe is worth travelling for. The sweet brekkies are an absolute sight to behold. If you prefer to save dessert for later in your day, though, the rest of the menu slaps just as hard. We're talking prawn toast, pork belly potato hash and miso mushrooms with whipped feta on wakame buttered toast. Let's be honest, our fave from the new autumn menu though has to be the showstopping baked sticky date pancake with caramel popcorn, coconut caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.

New Yorkers know a good thing when they see it. And clearly bagels are one of the best ways to start your day. At Bagel O's, you can get 'em plain with a schmear or load 'em up with fillings like BLT, egg mayo and pastrami, egg and cream cheese (PEC). You probably won't need lunch if you go with the latter.

By night, this plant-filled industrial style warehouse is pumping out cocktails and tasty snacks, but did you know the AM vibes are just as good at Servo? Round up your mates for hot chips topped with hollandaise and crispy bacon, handmade crumpets stacked high with salt and vinegar corn ribs and stracciatella on charred toast topped with lashings of avocado. Add mimosas if you're keen to start your boozing early or stick to coffee or their epic smoothie menu. This has to be one of our faves for a big group breakfast.
Little Sisto
Doubleview
Little Sisto's leafy rear courtyard is a really cute spot for breakfast dates. They've got plenty of great options for hungry bellies but I'd definitely suggest giving the spicy scramble a crack. Made with fresh chilli, nduja (spicy salami paste), aged gouda cheese, spring onion, chives and za’atar spice on sourdough toast, it's mind blowingly good. Wash it down with a beautiful iced almond milk latte featuring their own house made almond milk.
Local & Aesthetic

Local & Aesthetic has to be one of our fave breakfast spots in Perth. Its laid back community vibes and WA-centric menu is bolstered by the fact the space is also home to Rhubarb Records vinyl and an Indigenous art gallery and retail outlet. As for what to eat, the house cured smoked salmon rye toast with whipped lemon myrtle feta and bright pickles is a super fresh way to start the day. Otherwise I'd go the chorizo with muhammara, dugite verde and poached egg on brioche toast—it's the kinda feed that guarantees to soak up any booze lingering in your system after a big night.

After spending more than a decade living in New York, Soho Lane owners Matt Miller and Trindy Adler are all about building inviting community spaces where everyone feels right at home, and this stunning pink-hued laneway spot delivers just that. In the kitchen they’re also providing a nod to New York, offering hangover-friendly dishes like fried chicken and waffles alongside all-day brunch classics.
Hobart Deli
North Perth
Tucked away from the main North Perth strip, on a suburban street across from a lovely little gated park (perfect for kiddos and pups), Hobart Deli is a breakfast no-brainer. Especially since the adorable corner cafe went through its revamp. Arrive early to secure a seat outside in the sunshine, then head in to order. We always struggle to pick between the banana french toast with added bacon (trust us) and the sausage and egg muffin, but it's all consistently good. There's also a cabinet full of awesome little to-go goodies if you wanna sit at the park instead.
Cheol's

Formerly known as Viaje, Cheol's is an absolute back alley gem. They're now doing a whole new Korean thing by night. By day though, you can still get some of Perth's finest examples of Asian-fusion brekkies around—just go the chilli crab scramble and see what we mean. And it's all wrapped up in the most beautiful pink, leafy exterior.

This retro-inspired North Perth cafe showcases traditional Jewish cuisine with a New Orleans flair. Far from doing your regular smashed avo and eggs benny, we'd classify these brekkies as soul food. Think: mind blowing bagels, reubens, rooster rolls and meatball hoagies, backed up with good coffee and sweet slices of babka.

When you match colourful, healthy breakfasts with specialty drinks like turmeric and beetroot lattes then add some tropical island vibes, you get Chinta Cafe in North Perth. Once you’re seated among the mini buddha statues and bamboo plants, we recommend you feast on their vegan big breakfast, the croissant royale or the delicious Shark Bay blue swimmer crab omelette. Don’t skip over the fresh juice menu either.

The breakfast game at this unassuming little dog-friendly spot in Tuart Hill is insanely strong and backed up by quality coffee from Blacklist Coffee Roasters too. If you’re not sure what to order at Little Donkey Corner, we have three go-to’s that always deliver. The Turkish Eggs are beyond good (especially with feta and smoked salmon added), the Brekky Burger, filled with chorizo, melted cheese and the silkiest scrambled eggs, is the definition of a perfect hangover cure and the ridiculously pretty Fairy Floss French Toast is screaming out for a spot on your socials.

Purveyor of fine salted caramel doughnuts, fried chicken buttermilk pancakes and some of the best soft eggs going around, Mary Street Bakery needs very little introduction to the Perth brekky mob. Now boasting multiple locations all over Perth, we think it’s the O.G. that still takes the proverbial doughnut—its charming little corner location and split-level interior makes for a breakfast with true ambience.

Mornings at the dog beach followed by brunch at Lot One has to be one of the best ways to get your weekend going. Everything is delicious, and the menu changes seasonally. There’s brekky faves like nourish bowls, house crumpets and brisket benny, or for something more substantial the pancetta and clam linguine will hit the mark. Add a cocktail for extra Sunday goodness.

Headed up by Josh McGinnity—the original owner behind local cafe institutions Hylin and Laika—Heathridge’s new Runyeh cafe and roastery is a clear win for the northern burbs. With house-roasted milk blends as well as blacks and single origins and bottomless batch, it’s an essential stop for serious coffee folk. While wallet-friendly bites like the Double Sausage English Muffin and Reuben But Different will keep everyone happy.
Little h Cafe
Duncraig
If you haven’t been to Little h in Duncraig yet, you need to sort that out ASAP. Here you’ll find hearty feeds, amazing coffee and delicious smoothies which can be enjoyed every day of the week. Take a seat inside among the crisp white interior and hanging plants, or find a table outside and watch the world go by as you treat yourself to a drool-worthy brunch. The fluffy pancakes coming out of this kitchen definitely deserve a place at your table.

By now, you probably should have heard of The Little Bay—the beachfront sibling of Little h in Duncraig. The space is decked out in the coolest coastal cool decor to match the stunning views. Foodwise, their fluffy pancakes are all the rage, but we reckon you also need to try their classic smashed avo or chorizo scrambled eggs.

Pizza for breakfast? You betcha! We’re obsessed with the stunning pizzettas coming out of Canteen Pizza’s glorious new Applecross location. Chase it down with your espresso of choice and enjoy it out in the lovely street front alfresco.

If you’re in the mood to spoil yourself with some French fare, you’ll need to take a visit to Little French Nest. Want something sweet? How about French toast with pear compote, almond tuille and chantilly cream. If savoury is your style, the mouth-watering sweet potato and feta galette with caramelised onions and a fried egg will be sure to hit the spot. When all else fails, the incredibly cheesy croque monsieur will sort you out—it's gotta be one of the best in Perth.

On top of offering what is probably Perth’s best Indian Ocean view, Bib & Tucker also serves up a breakfast for foodie champions. The menu is as solid as they come—winners like shakshouka eggs, huevos rancheros, avo toast and fried chicken roti that keeps the beach-side breakfast crowd very happy indeed.

One look at the eggy brioche sandwiches Eggspot is churning out and you won't be able to think of anything else. Filled with everything from cheese and bacon, to fried chicken, pickles, hash browns and avocado, there's something to suit whatever yearning you're faced with. You can also find these guys in North Perth now too if you’re too hungover to handle the Freo markets.

Breakfast with Hush Specialty Coffee is always a special affair. Not only is the coffee breathtakingly good, the menu will send you rushing here at first glance. Jaffa French toast with Hush’s own espresso Jaffa soil, a blood orange gel, whipped Nutella and Frangelico caramel has us weak at the knees. The panna cotta granola, truffle mushroom and beef brisket benny are all top notch.
Hinata Cafe

If you want to feel like you've hopped on a plane to Japan for a morning, go to Hinata. The adorable little Japanese-owned cafe is about as authentic as it gets, with home-style brunch sets that change with the season. These mixed sets give you the chance to sample a bunch of tasty Japanese bites, from miso salmon and pumpkin tempura to sweet delights like baked yuzu custard pudding.
Roasting Warehouse
South Fremantle
While the name might suggest that this place is all about coffee, Roasting Warehouse is dishing up some extremely good breakfast alongside their smooth brews. For a start, the breakfast is all day, and if that’s not enough to make you happy, we’re willing to bet that their Eggs Benny Chan will be. Don’t forget to grab a house-made doughnut for the road.

If you live nearby this cool sandwich bar, consider us jealous. Peggy's sausage and egg muffin might just be one of our Roman Empires, we think about it that much. It's like the Maccas classic, except better. Think: melted American style cheese on a moreish little sausage patty topped with a special sauce and all wrapped in the fluffiest house baked muffin ever.

Think feeds like poached eggs with creamy gorgonzola or a halloumi bruschetta—whatever you choose will be sure to fill you up. There’s also a vintage store right next store so you can pop in for a browse after you dine.

A Perth Hills staple, Mason & Bird has been knocking out the kinda brekkies worth travelling for since 2016 and shows no sign of slowing up. The weekend menu is full of hearty spins on the classics, from triple cheese scrambled eggs and brekky burgers to mushroom and chorizo toast with butterbean puree (our go-to).

This cute cafe has a menu full of all the brekky classics plus some unique treats like vanilla and elderflower yoghurt pannacotta. The buttermilk pancakes are simply stunning and will make the urge to ‘gram your meal hard to resist. Trust us, it really doesn’t get much better than sitting in their garden, double parked with freshly squeezed juice and coffee and a big brekky in front of you.

For the eggs benny of your dreams, look no further than Finlay & Sons in Inglewood. Their iconic hash browns loaded up with perfectly poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, wilted spinach and giant slabs of thick cut bacon—it’s no wonder you guys shouted this spot out more than any other when we asked for your fave brekkies. These guys have also mastered the humble bacon and egg roll, which is best washed down with a coffee using beans by Twin Peaks.

With sweeping riverfront views, an on-site garden and a nutritious brekky menu, this lush Maylands cafe from the crew behind Perth's most loved day spas, Bodhi, is an absolute winner. Grab a seat out on the picnic tables and tuck into hearty baked eggs, sweet corn and feta fritters or classic avo toast with a perfectly poached egg. There's also sweet house waffles and a silky breakfast pannacotta if you believe in dessert for breakfast. Plus, it's dog friendly and has an awesome little cafe play space that will keep kids entertained too.

Fluffy pancake stacks, loaded smoothie bowls and breakfast gnocchi—we’re yet to meet a brunch dish at Holly Rayes we didn’t fall instantly in love with. Plus, the cakes here are to die for, so you’re gonna want to find some sort of excuse to take a celebratory cake home with you.

This adorable lil Baysie cafe offers up some brilliantly unique breakfasts, with menus that change with the season. Right now, we’re drolling over the Spicy Baby—a brekky burger filled with chilli peanut scrambled egg, fried shallots and kewpie mayo—but no doubt they’ll be back with something even better soon enough. It’s also got some stellar options for the kids and a nice alfresco area outback too.

Another low-key brekky joint with an innovative brekky offering in the Vic Park locale, Harvest Espresso's food remains on point after many years of braving the ever-growing herd of local cafes. A changing, seasonal menu ensures food is fresh, current and of the highest quality—and meals are plated up so beautifully you almost won’t want to eat them. Almost.

Laika Coffee in Lathlain is dishing up amazing brunches and even better coffee—they roast their own on site—alongside Pilates classes and a basketball court. They’ve got loads of classic dishes that’ll hit just the spot, with the menu changing up each season to keep things fresh.

The egg sando coming out of Community Coffee Co's food truck is something everyone needs to try at least once in their life. Yes, it's that good. Personally, I like to throw in a hashbrown and their fermented chilli sauce for good measure, but the regular one still slaps. These sandos are pretty massive so if you're not super hungry you can easily share one with a mate and then split a NSS cinny scroll for your breakfast dessert.

Raising Perth’s bar on good service and quality, honest food is Good Things, whose dining philosophy is basically summed up in the name. A very satisfying breakfast and brunch menu with a contemporary twist is served up until 2.30pm daily, against a backdrop of minimalism, neutrals and indoor plants. Easily one of Perth's best breakfasts and now available in Freo too.

It’s as if the corner location of Hylin almost predetermined its ambience: the bustle of Railway Parade matches the hustle it takes to get a table here on weekends, but quickly gives way to the quiet of Abbotsford Street once you’re sat among the draping greenery, awaiting your smashed avo. Micrology coffee and a bang-on, satisfying breakfast offering bring this place home for the win.

Boucla is known for its standup Mediterranean brekkies—think shakshuka, Turkish eggs and souffra—and damn good coffee. Pair this with the always impeccable service and eclectic cafe vibes, and you have a seriously charming spot for your next breakfast date. Be sure to hit the cake cabinet up on your way out too.

Tucked away in the streets of Cottesloe, Daisies is the place to be on a sunny morning in Perth. Pouring strong coffee and scrumptious breakfasts to eat there or to grab and go, Daisies is the perfect spot for those who want something fresh and healthy to eat out in the warm sun. Try their famous smashed avo toast served with Meredith feta, chilli dukkah and house-made chilli jam—you won’t regret it.

Sitting very pretty on a corner along Cambridge Street is Floreat’s foremost breakfast spot, Someday Coffee Co. The pastel pink accents, bright whites, light pine and abundance of natural light are only the first thing to love about this place—it’s the food that’ll have you coming back repeatedly. As much a meeting place as it is an eatery, you’ll spot this place on Cambridge thanks to the hoard of people that tends to spill out onto the street in front of it.

There aren’t too many cafes in Perth serving a full Irish big breakfast alongside hollandaise topped eggs, shukshuka and Mexican-inspired avo on toast. It might sound like a pretty mad mix, but if you’re familiar with co-owners Craig Stewart and Lachlan Bisset’s other venues (North Street Store, Little Loaf Lunch Bar and Big Loaf Factory), you’ll know it all works just fine. Wards nails the kind of home-style cooking you crave in a beautiful renovated character space fit for the most important meals of the day.

If stunning waterfront views are what you're craving, it doesn't get much better than Bayside Kitchen. Set along the banks of the Swan River near Matilda Bay, Bayside Kitchen's breakfast game is strong. The buttermilk pancakes always hit the spot, but the mushroom bruschetta sure makes sticking with your original choice tough.

Cambridge Corner has slid right to the top of our brekky hit list since Michelin-starred husband and wife chef-duo Sean Marshall and Kristina Jensen took it over last March. The sweet breakfasts and pastries are where it’s at, with some of the most beautiful lamingtons and breakfast pannacottas we’ve ever seen. If you’re more of a savoury fan, though, try the soft poached Turkish eggs on a bed of whipped garlic yoghurt doused with Aleppo chilli butter or the authentic Scandi breakfast plate of smoked salmon, Swiss cheese and pickles with dark rye. Don’t skip the ready made meal cabinet either!

Perched on top of Swanbourne’s beach, the beachside eatery does every meal of the day. Whilst we love a good sunset drink and dinner, sipping on a Bloody Mary on a weekend morning also does the trick. The heirloom tomatoes with avo and stracciatella are a fresh way to start the day and the bacon and egg roll with a potato rosti will satisfy the traditional breakfast lovers in your life.
