Corporate workers of the CBD no longer need to worry about where to get their lunch with new kid on the block, Pollen, opening its doors. Serving up fresh coffee and some of the most gorgeous eats in town, it’s already won our hearts (and our bellies).

Brought to you by Jonny McKessar and the brilliant team behind Scratch Bakers and 3 Beans, as soon as you walk in you know you won’t be disappointed!

The light and bright café features one of the best cabinets in Auckland. The friendly team pride themselves on their variety of in-house made rolls, sandwiches and cakes—we reckon that even your nan would approve.

But, if you’ve got time to sit down and eat, you are in for a real treat. The extensive menu features all the classics we know and love with their own Pollen touch. There’s something for even the fussiest of eaters. Signature dishes include the heavenly open omelet which has a delightful texture and taste that makes it worth waking up early. Decorated with prosciutto, melon, mozzarella, fresh fig and basil it’s a dish that hits your sweet spot—just what we need on a Monday morning.

Speaking of sweet, the chia seed waffles topped with chocolate soil (yes, it’s a thing), are sure to guarantee repeat offenders. Pollen takes the trusted avo on toast to a whole new level, pairing the classic with an out-of-this-world beetroot relish. Dare we say it’s the best we’ve had to date!

Of course the Pollen touch will be evident as each dish is the thing of an Instagramer’s dream, decorated in plenty of greenery to make your brunch ‘gram just that extra bit special.

The coffee, is of course on point but if caffeine isn’t your go-to they also feature an extensive range of pressed juices and smoothies. Our pick would be the blueberry and banana, with the chocolate and hazelnut coming in at a very close second.

A blessing for local corporates, Pollen is one to keep on the agenda for your next meeting.
