If you’re all about them gains, hustle to Catroux to try their fitness bowl. It’s as pretty as a picture and constructed using only the good stuff. The good stuff being grilled haloumi, avocado, orange, rocket, tahini dressing, crunchy sprouts, toasted turmeric nuts and a poached egg. Hands down one of Auckland’s best breakfast dishes.

These guys know how to cram a whole lotta nutrients into their dairy and gluten-free smoothie bowls—blended to silky perfection then sprinkled with granola and fruit. No sweet tooth? No problem. Ralph’s in Mt Eden makes a damn fine breakfast burrito bowl. Grab a fork and shovel scrambled egg, black beans, chorizo, lime cream and chipotle mayo (plus a few other yummy extras).
