Sarah, the lovely lady behind the operation will impress with her acai smoothie bowl. Topped with her sugar and gluten-free, coco-nut muesli, this is a breakfast bowl you need in your life.

Free of nasty refined sugar, it’s made from coconut yoghurt pannacotta (basically dessert for breakfast), berries, chia, nut clusters and granita. Talk about scrumptious…

If you’re all about them gains, hustle to Catroux to try their fitness bowl. It’s as pretty as a picture and constructed using only the good stuff. The good stuff being grilled haloumi, avocado, orange, rocket, tahini dressing, crunchy sprouts, toasted turmeric nuts and a poached egg. Hands down one of Auckland’s best breakfast dishes.

Wash it down with a double shot of Coffee Supreme and you’ll be fully charged for the day. Savoury brekkie for the win.

Mondays don’t need no bowl. Instead, the Kingsland café craftily fill half a fresh papaya with paleo coconut, vanilla almond granola, chia berry coulis and yoghurt. You can literally gobble up entire thing, bowl included! That’s food ingenuity for ya.

Now, before you turn your nose up at puy lentils for breakfast, head to Odettes and try what they do with them. Spoiler alert: they’re bloody good. A beautiful bowl of lentils, savoury crepe, roasted cashews, lime labneh and a perfectly poached egg. Who said breakfast bowls were just acai and cereal?
