We’re big fans of trying to tick off as many bucket list experiences as possible in our lifetime, and they don’t get much more incredible than this one.
Imagine waking up in 160 acres of Northern Thailand’s ancient jungle, scoring a front row seat to watch the country’s majestic elephants in their natural habitat.
In a world first, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is giving travellers the chance to experience something truly incredible. Perched on a hill overlooking the Mekong and Ruak rivers, you can spend the night in one of two Jungle Bubbles.
Made with high tech polyester fabric, the bubbles offer an immersive, close-to-nature experience in total luxury. Each air-conditioned bubble is 22 square metres of pure bliss. There’s a swanky bedroom boasting a king bed, a living area with mini bar, bathroom complete with fluffy robes and of course fully transparent walls and ceiling for unobstructed views of your beautiful surroundings.
And because Anantara is primarily a home to rescued elephants who can no longer look after themselves, the bubbles and your access to them were designed with the animals’ wellbeing in mind. In Anantara the elephants do as they please, so grab a champagne, sit back and wait for them to stroll by.
This seriously special experience doesn’t exactly come cheap at around $850 AUD dollars for two people, but we reckon it’s about time you treated yourself. And even better, part of the cost goes towards the elephants and their caretakes, so it’s a win-win.
