Doughnut freakshakes, doughnut ice-cream toppings, crème brûlée filled doughnuts, Nutella cronuts, we thought we’ve seen it all. But now, a pop-up restaurant is showcasing the ultimate doughnut creation, and we're pretty much losing our minds. Introducing the glazed doughnut BURGER!
Located in one of Auckland's most stunning restaurants, Ostro, you'll find Sneaky Snacky. Brought to us by Senior Chef of fine dining restaurant The Sugar Club's senior chef, Min Seak Kang, you know it's going to be good! A throwback to the vital and colourful '80s culture, there is 'vaporwave'-inspired decor showcasing video and music from the era. Chef Kang was inspired by the nostalgic of simple yet tasty Korean snacks and married it together with his newfound knowledge of Western cuisine.
When it comes to the food, they’re cooking up a Korean-inspired menu with an epic combination of different elements of flavours and cultures. This includes Korean fried chicken and the mozzarella cheese black hot dog. But what we have our eyes on is that mighty doughnut burger!
Sneaky Snacky’s doughnut burger is a homemade, simple sugar glazed and fluffy doughnut cut in half. The fresh doughnut is filled with a premium and juicy wagyu beef patty, kimchi fritters for that crunch and Korean flavour and spice. For good measure there's also a good old slice of ooey-gooey melted American cheese. This one is for all the sweet tooths AND savoury tooths out there and we can confirm that it’s absolutely 10/10 delish.
The pop-up restaurant will only be on until the 18th of August, so make sure you don't miss out!
