In what could be known as the creative triple-threat of year, decade, century or maybe even ever, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and visual artist Takashi Murakami are coming together for an animated series titled Kids See Ghosts.
The show shares the same name with West and Cudi’s 2018 collab album, and features a character who’s recurred throughout Yeezy’s visual story from his career’s beginnings, Kanye Bear. It comes as no surprise that West will voice the dough-eyed bear, while Cudi will play Kid Fox.
Murakami is fulfilling directing duties, which follows on from various collaborations in the past including the Murakami directed video for West’s 2007 hit Good Morning, along with album artwork for Graduation and Kids See Ghosts.
Aside from the fact that Kids See Ghosts centres around a talking bear and fox, details on the plot lines are minimal, but the first official trailer does suggest we’re in for an expectedly beautiful ‘Murakami’ universe in which the two furry friends inhabit.
Along with the Kids See Ghosts teaser, West also recently announced a 10-year partnership with clothing label GAP and released a new Yeezy shoe, slip-on or foam clog—he’s a man of many creative outputs, with some arguably more appealing than others.
There’s no release date as yet, but you can watch the trailer below.
