Hatched during lockdown by Le Chef’s founder, Ed Le Goff, The Foodies is a new gourmet food delivery service that couldn’t be timelier. This ‘dark’ kitchen isn’t open to diners, solely focusing on menus that are best suited to people who’ll be receiving the food through the delivery services UberEats, Flamingo Food, and Menulog.
Take a peek at the Michelin-inspired menu and you’ll see the likes of lobster, crayfish and oyster platters among many other options. Yep, this is some seriously good food prepared by some seriously talented chefs. Feast like royalty on the ‘French Sensations’ and sharing platter menus, followed up by the heavenliest desserts you ever did see.
Vegetarians fear not, there’s a soups and salads menu, both of which come in gorgeous glass jars that you can wash and repurpose. The whole menu is packaged with sustainability in mind, so your biggest concern will be trying to decide what you want to eat. The chocolate tart with orange ganache filling is the ultimate balance of being pure deliciousness without being too rich, perfect for even the fussiest of chocolate eaters.
Last week it was servicing busy workers and people hosting dinner parties that can’t cook as well as a pro chef (so, pretty much everyone). Since Auckland has moved back into a level three lockdown, The Foodies will be making sure you are fine-dined while you stay safe in your bubble.
