If there’s one thing we just love here at Urban List, it’s a glass of champers—the only drink you can justifiably enjoy at breakfast, lunch or dinner…and anytime in between. Mix it with our favourite town for a winter escape and we’ve pretty much reached peak happiness.

Yep, that luxury four-day champagne event, Clicquot in the Snow is back for 2019 and, as expected, the programme is better than ever.

Returning for its ninth year, locals and visitors alike will be able to raise their glasses and toast to the spectacular winter Queenstown offers and indulge in some serious apres ski fun from the 1st—4th of August.

“We’re excited to be heading into our ninth year of Clicquot in the Snow, each year the festival continues to get bigger and better,” says Juliet McInnes, Senior Brand Manager of Veuve Clicquot. “Queenstown continues to deliver the best Clicquot in the Snow experience worldwide with incredible local cuisine and alpine adventures.”

This year is sure to be the best yet, with a new Clicquot husky sledding experience at Snowfarm. Yes, you read correctly, there will be a husky dog sledding team ready to whisk you through the high trails of the Southern Alps all with a handy picnic stashed on your ride. You can even take the helm yourself or just ride along in the basket with an experienced musher guiding your journey.

Celeb chef Josh Emett (the guy behind Madam Woo) will be back dishing up the iconic Clicquot Long Lunch series at Rata Restaurant, a four-course degustation lunch that will send you into seventh heaven.

Proving to be one of the highlights for Clicquot in the Snow and returning to the line-up this year, is the highly anticipated Kathryn Wilson Show. The energetic fashion show will give an exclusive first look at her Spring/Summer 19 Footwear Collection ahead of its release later this year. Tickets for the show are always in high demand so be in quick, the hottest ticket in town has previously sold out in under two minutes.

Other not-to-be-missed moments include the hugely popular Après Bar at Coronet Peak, a gondola ride to Bob's peak high above Queenstown—where you can marvel at the Southern night and let's not forget the moreish "flute and fries" where you can snack on delicious truffle fries, the perfect bedfellow for a glass of champers.

It’s a weekend of champers, snow and luxury, darling. Be there.
