April is music month at Urban List and we’ve got all of your music know-how covered.

Every week we’ll be showcasing what’s trending in the world of music. Read on to find out what's been happening.

MUSIC

News is just in that Donald Glover will premiere Guava Island at Coachella after his performance. But if you didn’t score tickets to the Palm Springs-based festval, it will also be live-streamed across Coachelle’s YouTube (Saturday night at 8pm) and will be free to watch on Amazon Prime at 12am Saturday (for 18 hours only).

The world got an insight into the first week numbers for Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do Go?, which topped the Billboard 200 charts. The 17-year-old’s album charted to have the biggest opening week for an album this year, just behind Ariana Grande.

We’re days out from the final season of Game of Thrones and good news, there’s an album studded with talent from The Weekend, SZA and Travis Scott on the way. Created by Colombia Records, this LP is called For The Throne and you can get your hands on it come April 26.

Almost a year after his death, Avicii’s team dropped a teaser for the Swedish DJ and record producer’s posthumous album, TIM. The released track is called SOS and a portion of the sales made when purchasing will be donated to The Tim Bergling Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation created by Avicci’s family to raise money for suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

This week it was also announced that Miley Cyrus is locked to replace Cardi B at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound this year. Cardi B was originally set to headline the Spanish festival last year but has since cancelled her performance due to “promotional commitments”. No complaints though, the sentiment has since blown-up and the people are excited to see Miley Cyrus on stage again, and who wouldn't be?

BOOKS

This week, Logic proved that artists really can do all, dropping a novel to pair with his new LP. The book is called Supermarket and has been dubbed “Naked Lunch meets One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest — if they met Fight Club”.  If a funny, psychological thriller sounds like you, Logic’s latest piece of work could be your jam.

FILM AND TV

This week, the official trailer dropped for Beyonce’s pipeline Netflix documentary. Spoken by Maya Angelou (American poet, singer and civil rights activist), the trailer casts a watchful eye over the entertainer in the lead up to her historic 2018 Coachella performance.

Word on the street this week is that Travis Scott will be teaming up with Nike again to partner on another Air Force 1 collab again. The sillouhette is said to drop later this year in October, feature bronze-fossil trimmings and will retail at around $160 AUD.

Louis Vuitton also dropped a teaser of Virgil Abloh’s pre-autumn sneakers and bags this week so brace yourselves. Inspired by Tokyo and its service industry workers and retail uniforms, expect high tops decked in leather, velcro straps, a rubber outsole and orange detailing.
