Lupo
From the outside looking in, dimly lit Lupo has the essence of an Italian neighbourhood trattoria and late-night bar. It already feels worn and lived in, like it’s been there forever. Dark timber furnishings and Bentwood chairs join inviting forest green booths and banquettes; spherical ceiling lights, grey-washed walls and exposed cement floors all tie together seamlessly in the 40-seater dining room.

This hidden gem, located on Clear Island Waters, might have an unassuming façade but their menu will keep you coming back for more. Home to their famous Coco Fluff, a vegan, coconut-based soft-serve (that’s also DF and GF), the eatery’s bowls are a must eat.
Notorious E.A.T.
Created by Chef Jemma Wickham and with the recent addition of Chef Dan Fox Notorious E.A.T. is so much more than just a burger truck. Inspired by the local diner and burger scene in the USA, Chefs Jem and Dan spend time at HQ trialling burgers to bring their loyal fans some seriously epic creations. Fan favourites include the Ezy E (and pressed beef patty, rasher bacon, cheese, caramelised onion, house BBQ sauce with 2 crispy hash browns) and the Piggie Smallz (lettuce, house made apple slaw, melt in your mouth pulled pork, bouse BBQ sauce). While their more recent additions include crazy specials such as the PB Ja Rule and the Pizzaburger! The Pink Flamingo is the world's first Spiegelclub, with nightly performances every Wednesday through Saturday night. Promising a touch of burlesque and a hint of Vegas—with performers handpicked from all corners of the globe including Russia, US, UK, Mexico and a sprinkle of home-grown talent—expect mind-spinning aerials, cirque-style acrobatics, sexy choreography, sultry vocal solos, tight buns, ripped abs, feathers, glitter and a dose of laugh-out-loud cabaret comedy.

If you haven’t heard of Flockd, you will soon because they’re popping up all over the country. And now we’re lucky enough to have one of their epic co-working spaces here on the Gold Coast. Located in Burleigh Heads just a short stroll from James Street and the beach, they’re full of creative, innovative and idealistic professionals. Flockd offer loads of flexibility to cater for everyone’s business needs with hot desks for $40 a day to permanent digs available like the Drifter pass for $35 a day and Resident pass for $32. They even offer a free day pass, so you can test out the facilities. The space is full of light with a mixture of open plan desks and meeting spaces. There’s also chilled and sparkling water on tap, an in-house bar and happy hour daily.
New Wave
If you like your co-working space with a side of beach strolls, then New Wave is for you. The Mermaid newbie is located a short stroll from the ocean and is just down the road from Bam Bam Bakehouse so your lunch break can now consist of karaage chicken croissants and salted caramel eclairs topped off with a dip in the sea. New Wave boasts a cool, coastal vibe, with crisp white walls, touches of pink, loads of greenery, velvet couches in jewel tones and a cinder block bar.
Eddy + Wolff
A newbie to the GC foodie scene, Eddy + Wolff is an intimate 22-seat Asian bar and restaurant cooking up delicious, modern eats. Bringing a side of spice to Robina, the sleek eatery comes to us from the team behind Can Tho Kitchen in Runaway Bay so you know they’ve got the goods.

Once a furniture store, The Henchman has been completely renovated and now boasts a huge outdoor boozing and dining area, complete with astro turf, white picnic tables, hanging chairs and fairy lights.
Mobile Barber Shop Depot
Widely respected for his handiwork at family-owned Luigi & Sons barbershop, with over 30 years experience, Joey D’Adderio has expanded into a totally unique and versatile 376m2 warehouse in Bundall. Now the home base for Luigi & Sons’ mobile barbershop caravan, this concept barbershop boasts retro lounges, a pool table and pinball machines, industrial styling, vintage vibes, plus a silver Airstream that doubles as a bar—and regularly morphs into a rad backdrop for weddings and character-charged events. Ensuring this Gold Coast barber is more than just a place to get a haircut—Mobile Barber Shop Depot is a social community hub and the pride and joy of a talented man who infectiously lives and breathes his craft.

Operating on the Gold Coast since 1961—when father Luigi D’Adderio first immigrated to Australia from Italy—second-generation barbershop Luigi & Sons is the Coast’s long-running store. This family-orientated barber is now in the capable hands of son Lino who has more than 25 years experience under his belt, is a world-renowned ambassador for American Crew and has also developed his own man-grooming tool, the King Louis IX styling rake. What’s really cool is hearing stories of gents who were first taken to Luigi, Lino and brother Joey as boys, and are now returning with their own sons to keep the man-love and grooming tradition alive. No list of best barbers on the Gold Coast would be complete without this local institution.
