Last year saw the festival in its second year, with stunning lightshows, artwork and entertainment, it attracted more than 63,000 visitors.

This year, Bright Nights expect some 100,000 visitors to the immersive event. Once again, the festival is led by Auckland-based architect and designer Angus Muir, known for transforming spaces into hypnotizing interactive experiences. Taking place from Wednesday, 8 May to Sunday 12 May the trail has almost doubled in length. With more than a dozen interactive displays, key highlights include an underwater masterpiece titled Monstrum Marina by special effects studio Creature Post, the return of the popular Silent Disco on Te Wero Island, featuring Ladi6 and the Vector Lights show across the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
