Poutine lovers—now is the time to rejoice because Canada’s famous La Poutine Week is coming to Auckland this February. The cultural dish is a trifecta of fries, cheese curd and gravy—you simply don’t need a reason to indulge in all its goodness.
La Poutine Week is a festival and contest that celebrates Quebec’s love for Poutine by inviting restaurants from around the world to develop an exclusive poutine dish for the public to eat. Poutine-partisans get busy and put those fat pants on, because you get to choose the winner! It takes place simultaneously in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, the UK, the US, Canada and, of course, Auckland.
Between 1st-7th February, make your way to Al’s Deli to try their Confit duck poutine or to Coreano for their Kimchi fries with pork carnitas and melted cheese topped with K-salsa roja, Mexican crema, red onion and cilantro.
Once you’ve made your choice, download the app, cast your vote and help put Auckland on the poutine world stage.
