Settle in for good times this weekend because there's a sling of binge-worthy goods you need to cross off your bucket list.
Here's everything you need to binge this weekend.
13 Reasons Why Season 3
It’s time to get your hefty teen-drama lenses back on, 13 Reasons Why season three is finally here (and let’s be honest, it’s the series that keeps on giving). No doubt controversial in its portrayal of high school life, the next sling of episodes will pick up after a failed school shooting occurred at Liberty High. And if there’s one thing we’ve all learnt, it’s that anyone could be the culprit. This one drops on Netflix August 23.
American Factory
From Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winners Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, comes American Factory. This Netflix Original film takes a deep dive into a post-industrial Ohio, where a Chinese billionaire opens a new factory in the husk of an abandoned General Motors plant and hires two thousand blue-collar Americans. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America. Settle in and get cultured, watch it here.
Simon Amstell: Set Free
Also dropping on Netflix is a stand-up comedy segment you absolutely need to watch to wind-down from the workweek. Simon Amstell is a certified comedic god in the comedy world and in this gem, he opens up about his neuroses, coming out to his dad, relationships and why we’re living for such a damn long time. Food Busker’s Cult Food Stories
Food delivery service Zomato recently tweeted, “Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion.” The Food Busker himself, John Quilter, couldn’t agree more. Travelling the world to marvel at the morsels people line up around the block, and pay any kind of money, to eat, Quilter talks about how these tasty treats have garnered a cult following. Getting the scoop (of ice cream) by watching the dishes prepared, trying to make them himself, talking to fans and chefs, and most importantly – eating, you too can join the cult of food.
