Here are the best free online courses to get into right now.
MoMA Art Courses
MoMA is now hosting a series of eight free online courses. In the list of courses is "Fashion as Design", "Post-War Abstract Painting", "Seeing Through Photographs" and "Modern Art and Ideas". And there's one titled "What is Contemporary Art", where you'll investigate more than 70 works of art made between 1980 and the present, with direct commentary from artists, architects, and designers from around the globe. The courses range from 16-27 hours to complete, and will be angled at beginners. You'll also be given corresponding reading and exercises to complete too.
Ivy League Courses
Make like Rihanna and get into an Ivy League school sans actually getting into an Ivy League school. There are a tonne of free online courses available (around 450, just casually) from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton and Yale. Some of these require as little as an hour-commitment each week (over a number of weeks) and span subjects including “The Science Of Wellbeing”, The Civil War, accounting, philosophy, “Fundamentals Of Neuroscience” and even gamification. Master The Art Of Calling Bullshit Course
Now more than ever before, we find ourselves constantly bombarded with "news" from all angles, all claiming to be the ultimate source of truth. But the reality is, the world is awash with tabloid headlines and misinformation. Tafe NSW Courses
In conjunction with the NSW Government, TAFE NSW is making a number (21 to be exact) of fee-free short-courses available. These courses can be completed in just a couple of days or weeks and span a wide range of business skills. If you're someone who's been considering starting a business—this could be a great way to skill up and get going.
Courses cover administration skills (level up on word processing or bookkeeping), digital impact (where you’ll most likely become the master of Excel spreadsheets), leadership performance (your dedicated course on nailing the art of facilitating meetings and negotiating meeting arrangements) and finally — general businesses skills (which will span data, web searching, software and managing workplace documents including letters, reports, flyers, budgets, basic formulas and charts).
