Graham Street is becoming quite the hip inner-city area. It’s lined with a handful of great cafes, the newest of which is Major Sprout—a light, sleek and Pinterest-worthy space serving up faultless lunch fare, sweet treats and coffee.
Being the sibling of the popular Ponsonby spot, Dear Jervois, Major Sprout has a lot to live up to. However, judging by the cafe's already buzzing atmosphere, we don’t doubt it will secure its place as one of Auckland’s best cafes.
Owner, David Lee has done a seriously impressive job at creating a welcoming look and feel. Major Sprout is decked out in white marble, geometric light fixtures, lush fauna and a cabinet full of irresistible food crafted by head chef Phil Czerwonatis. Take your pick from healthy salads, filled rolls and sushi made in house. Major Sprout also caters for all your dietary needs with gluten free, vegetarian and raw options, and the treats by The Raw Kitchen will be particularly hard to resist.
While Major Sprout understands that lunch-on-the-go is standard for city workers, their menu is something you’ll want to sit down and tuck into. Every meal that comes out of Phil’s kitchen is beautifully presented and will introduce you to flavour combinations you never knew your tastebuds needed.
