Locate your diaries, open your iCal, or make a mental note because Saturday 23rd January is officially booked in your summer calendar. London’s best party, Flamingo Pier is making its way back to Waiheke’s beautiful Rangihoua Olive Grove Estate, and trust us, you’ll want to be there.
This summer party is the brainchild of Kiwis, Luke Walker and Tom Seaton, who kicked off Flamingo Pier in Hackney Wick, London in 2014. It was a cracker of an event so the boys decided that New Zealand deserved a slice of the epic action. Last year’s pop-up island festival on Waiheke was a roaring success and 2016 is set to be no different.
Headlining Flamingo Pier is house legend Ian Pooley alongside a host of local DJ talent who will have you boogying barefoot under the sun and the stars with frozen cocktails in hand. There’s a new dance floor under a tree canopy and plenty of food and drink options to refuel with. Miss Moonshine’s will be doing their low n’ slow meat thing, and The Bearded Clam, who catered the first Flamingo Pier in London, will be lining bellies with their mouth-watering burger creations. Te Matuku Oyster Bar will also be shucking left, right and centre, because what’s a summer party without oysters?
On the refreshments front, Auckland favourite, Bedford Soda & Liquor will be keep you hydrated with their signature cocktails, Waiheke wine is set to flow, and CRATE Brewery’s crispy, Nelson-hopped pale is sure to keep beer lovers happy.
