Outliving passing trends and seasons, New Zealand womenswear brand Paris Georgia has been announced as the headline for New Zealand Fashion Week 2019. Earning the coveted title of this year’s Mercedes-Benz Presents designers, duo Paris Mitchell-Temple and Georgia Cherrie have propelled their brand since its beginnings in 2015.

Showcasing their Fall/Winter 2020 collection, we can expect more pieces reflecting their ethos of timeless silhouettes that flatter the female form, plus two bespoke outfits curated specially for the event. This partnership is a natural fit, combining Mercedes-Benz’s innovation and craftsmanship, with Paris Georgia’s sophisticated garments using high-quality materials.

The award is a global initiative recognizing and celebrating designers dedicated to the use of quality materials, innovative design and unique style, and Paris Georgia embodies exactly that. The New Zealand-born, based and made brand reflects the simplicity and enduring spirit of New Zealand design. Using custom-made fabrics with expert technique, the brand’s iconic 90s slip dresses have earned a cult following, and in three short years, Paris Georgia has become one of New Zealand’s leading designers both locally and on the global stage.

"Partnering with Mercedes-Benz has always been a dream of ours,” says Georgia Cherrie. “Mercedes-Benz is affiliated with so many fashion brands we admire all over the globe, it is truly an honour to sit alongside these designers”. Mitchell-Temple and Cherrie are in good company—predecessors of Mercedes-Benz Presents include esteemed recipients Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Camilla and Marc, Kneufermann, Kate Sylvester, and Zambesi.

Paris Georgia’s New Zealand Fashion Week 2019 show is expected to have some surprises on the evening of the show on 26 August, along with exciting collaborations with local and international designers and muses.
