Forget about Valentine Days, this year, the team at Terrarium are celebrating Galentine’s Day and Ballentine’s Day. The prior is for the girlies, with a one-day only special of a bottle of wine from the cellar and a decadent cheese board for $75. The latter is for the whisky lovers amongst us, with $5 off both of Ballentine’s 17 year old pours.

Make it a sticky date at Bertie this V Day. The set menu features all of the Bassendean neighbourhood favourite’s most loved dishes, included the saucy, scrumptious sticky date icecream sando that we just can’t get enough of.

Blasta Gastrobrewery

Take your date to the Blasta Collective’s Gastrobrewery and be one of the first to experience the brand spankin’ new venue. With a more elevated offering compared to the adjacent brewpub, the V Day dinner will begin with a cocktail on arrival, followed by award-winning chef Jay Tesorero’s three-course menu of modern Australian and British-inspired dishes.

Jazz and shiraz, name a more iconic duo. Let the sweet sounds of local jazz musicians set the mood while sipping on a red by candlelight at Bark on February 14. The curated three-course Feed Me menu features Bark’s favourite shareplates, such as Vegemite and mozzarella twists, beetroot carpaccio and chicken parmy croquettes.

La Vie Champagne Lounge, Crown

You’ve heard of a High Tea, but what about a High Cheese? Say ‘brie mine’ with a four-tierd stand of cheesy, tasty, sweet and savoury delights at Crown’s boujee Champagne lounge La View. It’ll be accompanied by either a tasting flight of four Champagnes or a heart-shaped cocktail to up the romance. Ain’t nothin’ cheesy about that.

Old Young’s Kitchen

Henley Brook

Dine beside the distillerie with Old Young’s For the Love of Gin. The romantic, bougee, boozy dinner includes a five-course menu highlighting local, season produced and native ingredients, plus a cheeky cocktail or two in the enchanting Swan Valley, less than a half hour drive from the CBD.

Bar Amelie

Known for their, ahem, libido boosting properties, it’s no wonder oysters are a popular choice on Valentine’s Day. Bar Amelie will be dishing them out by the dozen, best enjoyed alongside a bottle of Piper Heidsiech Champagne. There’ll also be Valentine cocktail specials going for $15 a pop all day and night, and special desserts made with love especially for the occasion.

The Garden

A romantic sunset looks even more magical when viewed from a stunning rooftop oasis with someone special. That’s why we’ve eyed off Storehouse’s stunning sunset dinner, with three courses and a complimentary cocktail for you and your date to swoon over.

Shui should definitely be on the top of your V-Day dinner list if you're keen to win your date over with lip-smacking eats and killer cocktails. Things To Do

Ten Pin Bowling

A couple bowling

Break out one of the classics and take your Valentine bowling. Bringing a decent dose of nostalgia, fun and some friendly competition thrown in for good measure, ten pin bowling is a classic for a reason. Use to code LOVEFUN when you pre-book at Funlab’s Strike or Archie Brothers to secure a lane for just $10.

Jazz Bars

If you enjoy the smooth, romantic tones of the Saxophone (or should we say Sexyphone?) go straight to The Ellington. Park up with vino for the most intimate, lively jazz you’ll experience in Perth. If you’re continuing the night, why not head to The Bird or Pica Bar?

Low-cost and low-key, beat the heat with a frozen yoghurt date. The ever-popular Yo-Chi will be adding chocolate-dipped strawberries to their tasty pick-and-mix toppings at each of their WA locations (Karrinyup, Vic Park and the recently opened Leederville). Chi-lovers will also be able to write a love letter to their Valentine’s and pin it to the wall for their special someone to read.

Day Spas

Pamper your plus one, splurge on a spa treatment and bliss out at BODHI. The Valentine’s special BODHI Restore includes either a spa, bath, steam or sauna, followed by a restorative and relaxing full body massage, side-by-side with a glass of complimentary sparkling wine to help you unwind. Want to make a day out of it? Go big with the BODHI Journey: a five hour sensory experience including a steam, sauna, steam or spa; full-body scrub; silky, mineral-rich wrap; massage; facial; scalp massage; hair treatment and a light lunch. Divine.

Tinder Bingo

A world-first is going down at CRUSH in Pirate Life Perth on February 14 with Tinder Bingo. The rules are simple: snatch up your bingo card, locate your match and let the romance blossom. There’ll be grazing snacks and a drink on arrival to help calm the nerves, and plenty of sparks flying.

The number one rule of Flight Club is to talk about how you had your first ever decent Valentine’s date here. Because honestly, is there anything more romantic than challenging your hand-eye coordination? Book in for a game of darts at Flight Club this Valentine’s Day for you and your special someone now.

Speed Dating

Single and ready to mingle? Henry Summer has you covered with a heart-pounding evening of speed dating. Hosted by the oh-so-charming Paul Rowe, the evening will start with a complimentary drink to help loosen the lips before getting stuck into three exhilarating speed dating rounds, with icebreakers and fun games thrown in. Let the love games begin!

Fringe World

What better place to spice up your date night plans than at Fringe World? There are soooo many saucy events to choose from and a bunch of fun Northbridge bars for you to grab a pre-show cocktail at. If you’re not sure where to start, just head to the Pleasure Gardens, grab a bite to eat and see what show takes your fancy.

Pottery Classes

We can write off a The-Notebook-Style kiss in the rain because it's summer here in Australia, and we can also write off a Dirty-Dancing-Esque lift because we aren’t dating Patrick Swayze. But we WILL NOT write off a Ghost-Style sensual pottery venture. Not Yet Perfect Pottery Studio in Applecross runs regular wheel throwing and wine classes that are definitely worth a crack (pun intended) for your next date night. Afterwards, you can head to The Rowing Pavilion or the Raffles Hotel for riverside bevs and bites.

Paint And Sip

Whether you're artistically blessed or struggle with basic stick figures, a good old paint and sip class is always a good time. Aided of course by a glass of vino in hand, these art classes include all the equipment you need and a qualified artist as your instructor. So all you really have to worry about is looking cute and turning up on time. Scope out Perth's best paint and sip classes and get booking.

Outdoor Cinemas

Somerville outdoor movies

You're absolutely spoilt for choice around this time of year, with so many awesome outdoor cinemas worth a look. Moonlight Cinema, hosted on the lawns of our iconic Kings Park, has a stellar lineup of romantic flicks running this Feb. Somerville Movies is home to the coolest indie films and the most magical setting beneath the pines. And Rooftop Movies has an unbeatable atmosphere and throwback films.

Escape Rooms

If you thought building Ikea furniture was the ultimate relationship test, we’re here to prove you wrong. Escape This in Northbridge has a steamy Pirate Island room, and if you ask us there is nothing more romantic than being surrounded by darkness, fog, and of course, skulls and crossbones. Alternatively, you could say “I love you” with a high stakes attempt at Escape Hunt in Fremantle, we recommend the Spy Mission room for that sexy Ocean's 11 vibe (George Clooney and Brad Pitt not included). Otherwise, these Perth Escape Rooms are worth checking out too.

Axe Throwing

Break the ice or the monotony of your usual date night with a relaxing and romantic session of axe throwing. Head to Maniax where you can throw hatchets for two hours and be treated to a drink on the hours post-throw. Located in Northbridge, why not mosey on down to dinner and drinks after? Find some of the best eats within walking distance here.

COMO The Treasury hotel room
Image credit: COMO The Treasury | Instagram

If things are getting serious a luxe little staycay at one of Perth’s best hotels is the perfect way to max out on those honeymoon phase vibes. From boutique beauties such as the Hougoumont Hotel in Fremantle, the unmatched heritage charm, and sophistication of the COMO The Treasury or the trendy Alex Hotel, there’s no denying Perth has an irresistible selection on offer.Anchor

Mini Golf

As much as we love a dimly lit bar and romantic dinner date on Valentine's day, we just can't pass up the opportunity to be both a human glow stick AND Tiger Woods this Feb 14. Five minutes south of Fremantle you’ll find Glowing Rooms, where you can do glow-in-the-dark mini-golf or VR escape rooms. With floors and walls painted by specialised artists and some magic glasses, you’ll soon be putting your way through some amazing glow-in-the-dark landscapes.

Art Gallery

Whether you're into art or not, there’s something pretty romantic about strolling through gallery exhibitions and soaking up the cultural sights with someone. Plus, they also provide plenty of great conversation starters along the way. The Art Gallery of WA has some great exhibitions running and a stunning rooftop bar with epic views over the city. There’s also the nearby Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, which can be paired with a glass of wine and an epic grazing board at Picabar.

I think everyone who’s ever been on a picnic has said “we should do this more often” so why not do it this Valentine’s Day?! You really can’t go wrong at these stunning spots. Otherwise just pick a spot that is sentimental for yoy, or walking distance from home if you plan on sharing a few bevvies together.
