Guys we have great news! For those of you that have been counting down the days until the end of winter and the start of rosé season, it is nearly here. Big ups to Sydney who will be turning it on for us this weekend, from Colour Balls to dog walks and Turkish feasts, here are 11 fantastic things to do in Sydney this weekend.

Thursday 25th

The Strand’s 125th Anniversary Event with MasterCard

You should all know by now that 1) we love to shop and 2) we love birthdays so when we can celebrate birthdays by shopping, we are literally giddy with excitement. A Sydney shopping icon, The Strand Arcade is celebrating 125 years of craftsmanship, creativity and fashion this weekend and everyone is invited! If you’re a MasterCard cardholder, you’ll also be able to take full advantage of extra offers and exclusive savings! Friday 26th

Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera at the Art Gallery of NSW

The ultimate blockbuster of art exhibitions is here to stay in Sydney for a little bit longer as the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibition has been extended. Cue cheers from everyone who originally didn’t get the chance to see the 33 artworks by the feminist icon and her husband. Ultimate relationship goals, right?

Saturday 27th 

Sydney Colour Ball

It’s time to dust off your ruby slippers from that old Wizard of Oz costume and get them ready for Sydney’s Colour Ball. With Sam Mac from Sunrise and Alex Dyson from Triple J as your MCs, as well as live tunes by The Sincopa Trio, the night is sure to have you clicking your heels together a la Dorothy at this ruby themed ball. The good times won’t stop there though with photo booths, silent auctions and cocktail raffles available all night for the required fun and frivolity. You’ll have the chance to score some serious prizes like playing in a Sydney Swans celeb match (yes please), see 5 Seconds of Summer (because we’re all closet 5SOS fans), or taste your way through a private Japanese whisky experience at Tokyo Bird. Not to mention that proceeds from the night will go towards Redkite, a charity that helps children and young people with cancer, which is a win for everyone.

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home Fundraiser

When you can take your pet to the pub, you know it’s going to be a good time, make that an excellent time and The Courthouse Hotel in Newtown is encouraging you to do exactly that. You’ll be able to enjoy beers with your (four-legged) bestie this Saturday afternoon, with all takings from schooners of Stone & Wood or Young Henrys going towards Sydney Dogs & Cats Home. No pet? No problem! Sydney Dogs & Cats Home will bring a range of furry friends that are looking for new homes. So if you’re looking for a new BFF, this could be the paw-fect solution.

Sunday Brunch at Café Ananas

They say petit déjeuner is the most important meal of the day and what better way to enjoy it then with Sunday brunch at Café Ananas. With our French brekkie faves like croissants and champagne making an appearance, it’s the perfect way to start your Sunday. Cin cin!

Muddy Paws Dog Walk

Tails will be wagging (literally) on Sunday at the Muddy Paws Dog Walk at Sydney Park. Hosted by animal welfare charity, Maggie’s Rescue, this mass dog walk aims to raise money and awareness for dog adoption, puppy anyone? The Muddy Paws Dog Walk will finish at the dog-friendly The Vic on the Park for a barbeque, yappy hour (see what they did there?) and a dog show. It will be im-paws-ible not to have fun on the day as the event also includes a treasure hunt, prizes for the best-dressed dogs and pets who look like their owners (our personal favourite).

What: Muddy Paws fundraising walk
When: Sunday 28th August, 10:30am
Where: Sydney Park Smoke Stacks and finish at The Vic on the Park 
Cost: Teams of 2-6 people (+ dogs) can register for $30 and you can start a fundraising page as well in support of your participation. All registration fees and donations are fully tax-deductible.

Big, Fat Greek-Turkish Feast

There’s no need to pack your bags for a trip to Europe to experience the oh so tasty flavours of Greece and Turkey. For one day only, Somer Sivrioglu, the man behind Anason in Barangaroo, and David Tsirekas from the highly anticipated 1821 will be creating the ultimate family-style lunch. Complete with lamb on the spit, Turkish wine, beer, ouzo and raki, you’ll be zorba-ing out of there with a full and happy belly.
