Jumbo Thai
Taking over the floor above the long-standing Embassy Hotel, Jumbo Thai is completely unlike every suburban Thai restaurant you’ve ever been to. The restaurant itself is a mix of traditional and modern decor, with a warm but muted colour palette providing a homely vibe. Quirky paintings adorn the walls, including one of a very jumbo-sized man thoroughly enjoying his own Thai feast, while an exposed brick wall features a vibrant mural.
Puzzled Room Escape
It's in their name so you know there is slim chance of getting out of one of Puzzled's escape rooms without giving the head a good scratch. With a group of between two and six players, you can try and get to the bottom of a missing professor in ‘Mirrored’, escape being the subjects of a devious experiment in ‘Monkey Run’, or find the cure in ‘Dr Irov’s Laboratory’. For larger groups, Puzzled even offer a special Battle Mode that will split the group and pit two teams against each other with opportunities to directly thwart each others’ mission. This option is ideal for up to 12 players so jot this one down for the Christmas party.

Cloud 8 Karaoke
As the self-proclaimed best karaoke in Brisbane, Cloud 8 is kicking your Sing Star routine up a notch. Tuck into the likes of melt-in-you-mouth brisket, pecan fed pulled pork, lamb and turkey, paired with plenty of sides like the Mafia secret southern slaw, shoestring fries, pickled onions, Texas toast, dinner rolls and of course, their very own range of sauces—the Mobster BBQ Sauce is one to try.
SoBa Social
SoBa Social is our go-to outdoor café venue situated in leafy West End, and it's ready to take your morning brunch experience to a whole other level. DogTap
When Scottish craft beer trailblazer BrewDog announced they were opening a tap room and brewery, DogTap, in Brisbane, beer lovers were frothing. Boasting 28 taps, DogTap Brisbane is pouring all the famed BrewDog headliners, including their Punk IPA, as well as an epic line-up of local guest beers from the likes of Range Brewing, Currumbin Valley Brewing, Balter and many more. Fantastic beer aside, you can also fuel up on BrewDog’s legendary classic menu of burgers, dogs, salads and buffalo wings, as well as a bunch of small and large plates designed just for Brisbane including Korean-style chicken wings, crispy pork cheeks, baby squid calamari and barramundi fritters.
Shhh!
Opening on Friday 25 October at Zero Constance Street in Fortitude Valley (if you can't find it, you'll never know...), this secretive bar is the place to hide away in a dark leather booth for a night sipping gin cocktails and nibbling on tapas, while the world outside passes you right on by. With a fitout inspired by the speakeasies of London's prohibition days, you'll find the bar filled with chesterfield armchairs, cozy booths and walls lined with bookshelves, along with seats at the bar to watch your barkeeper shake up the perfect cocktail.
The Tinsel Bar
Get ready to sip cocktails in a tinsel wonderland at Brisbane’s most Instagramable new bar and event space, The Tinsel Bar. This immersive tinsel paradise is serving up childhood nostalgia with a side of cocktails—for those of us who wanted to grow up too fast but now wish they were a kid again. The Elka Collective decor breathes high-end simplicity: the layered textures, creamy beige and white accessories, wood accents, and pops of green all work together to create a relaxed but luxurious atmosphere.
Bender’s Bar
The team behind Brisbane’s breakfast institution, Billykart, have brought us a brand new venue, one dedicated to the humble burger. After seeing Billykart's burger menu develop a cult following, owner Ben Roberts and chef Ben O’Donoghue decided to take things to the next level, taking over a location just up the road from their West End spot and turning it into Bender's Bar.
Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar
Sweet tooths of the northside, rejoice! Your favourite decadent dessert bar, Cowch is making its grand entrance at Chermside. This long-time fixture of South Bank has recently snagged some prime real estate for its newest location at Westfield Chermside, meaning you no longer have to trek your way into the CBD to gorge on Nutella waffle sandwiches, dessert pizzas, ice creams, churros, super shakes and much more.
Peach Cafe
Located in a charismatic Queenslander on Auchenflower's Haig Road is the aptly named Peach Café. Who doesn't love a good sandwich? Sometimes all you need to really hit the spot is a classic toastie—and that's just what you'll find on the menu at Bulimba's new gourmet sandwich bar, Crumbs. A home for back-to basics sandwiches, you'll find no soggy pulled pork or beef brisket between buns here. Instead a menu of six sandwhiches created by renowned chef Ben Williamson features the likes of The Mortadella, with mortadella, provolone, green olive mascarpone and radicchio, or The Ploughman's Grill, stuffed with ham, mustard pickles, cheddar, iceberg lettuce and parmesan.
El Camino Cantina
The north side just got a whole lot brighter, with famed Tex-Mex joint El Camino Cantina hitting the dining precinct at Westfield Chermside. If you've yet to experience the sensory overload that is a meal at El Camino Cantina, here's what you can expect—bright, neon-lit interiors with a mish mash of quirky objects on the walls, and bulk tacos, burritos and fajitas on the menu. Basically, it's the perfect spot for a group date wirth your whole crew, especially if you plan on ordering a few rounds of those margaritas.

Praise the brunch gods because Pablo is back, bringing their cult status-worthy smashed peas with them. New Farm residents (or just Brisbane brunch fanatics) will be well and truly familiar with Pablo, who shut the doors on their Brunswick Street cafe back in 2017. Now, owners Amy and Michael Bates are back with Pablo 2.0, and this time, we're not letting them go.

Behind the bar, you’ll find a wine list featuring some incredible local boutique drops, a cocktail menu featuring a 17-strong power list of classics, and beer on tap from its Howard Smith Wharves neighbour, Felons.

Nota
Given Terrace bistro Nota is predicated on a desire to provide a relaxed, communal atmosphere that make friends feel like family. The fit-out is designed to be an unassuming backdrop for this purpose, and doesn’t pull focus from the main event. With exposed brick and a granite bar top, Nota’s stripped back, unfussy feel is softened by timeless leather seats and natural light.
Corella
Woolloongabba’s latest bistro Corella holds an exquisite menu offering refined, contemporary Australian dishes at an accessible price point. Brought to life by the winning partnership of Paul McGivern and Bailee Dewes, Corella is the third venture for the pair, whose joint CV includes La Lune Wine and The Wolfe. Safe to say they know their stuff.

Taking over a heritage-listed building at Howard Smith Wharves, Stanley has completely revamped the space. Overlooking the river on the ground floor, an outdoor terrace and bar with a retractable roof provides a breezy spot for long lunches and boozy catch ups. Inside is where things are really taken to the next level though, with jaw-dropping interiors that feature handcrafted rattan ceiling, bamboo and mural-lined walls and hanging lanterns pay homage to traditional Chinese design aesthetics.

Just like a single origin coffee or a bottle of French wine from a specific vineyard, Gotcha Fresh Tea believes tea should be farmed from a single location for consistancy and quality. Differentiating themselves from other bubble tea spots, Gotcha Tea farms their very own tea in Taiwan, which is then freshly brewed and made for each individual order. Featuring an abundance of flavours from basic black tea all the way up to Gotcha’s take on cheese tea—a cold tea concoction topped with a thick layer of salted cheese cream—Gotcha Fresh Tea is sure to satisfy every sweet tooth, no matter how adventurous.
Restaurant Indriya
Tease your senses by exploring flavours from all over South East Asia—with a modern twist. Located at the base of the Metropolitan Hotel in Spring Hill, Restaurant Indriya offers a unique multi-sensory chef’s table dining experience from one of Malaysia’s finest chefs, Eugene Lee. Bringing their trademark Latin American treats and Instagrammable cocktails to Everton Park's new laneway precinct, Comuna Cantina has landed on the northside, ready to dish up tacos, nachos and arepas to the masses. These guys really know how to make you want to open up your camera app, and the new venue is no different, with colourful murals, a pink neon sign telling you 'but first, we dance,' and a blush pink dining room that just screams 'group selfie time.'
Koto Sanpo
Just one of the many delicious Asian eateries in Brisbane CBD's FudoDori arcade, Koto Sanpo is inspired by the teahouses of Kyoto. Literally translating to "a peaceful stroll around Kyoto," the cafe is set out like a long pathway, with booth seating in an industrial themed interior that makes use of natural wood, concrete and dark greens.
