The switch has flicked from UGG-weather to spring, which means it’s pretty much summer, which means the festive season of booze, feasts, friends, and long, sweltering days at the beach are upon us.

(We won’t talk about the sunburn or the mozzies or the iceblocks that are half melted before you’ve even popped the sucker in your mouth. Gah! Summer, you might have little quirks, but we love you all the same.)

What better way to soak up the Coast’s summery vibes than booking an epic beach pad for the ultimate stay-cation. Call your mates to fill up the spare rooms, comb the farmers’ market so you’re prepped for platter o’clock, and bask in the good times.

You keen? Here’s 10 Sunshine Coast holiday houses and apartments, you’ll want to bookmark.

Oceanfront Luxury | Sunshine Beach

Gah! You’ve got to at least look at this baby. Even if you can’t afford to book it, just imagine the epic thrown-together dinner party you could have around that dining table, followed by a late-night dip in that pool, of course! We don’t even know where to start with this Sunshine Beach house—it’s got it all! Ocean views, gorgeous interior, massive decks; if you’re trying to convince the besties to move to the Sunshine Coast, a couple of nights here should do the trick!
What to do nearby? Get the blood pumping with a hike from the northern end of Sunshine Beach, up the staircase to heaven, and over to Alexandria Bay. Want more? Tackle the A-Bay to First Point mish. It’s easily one of the best hikes on the Sunshine Coast.

Modernist Beach House | Marcus Beach

Show your out-of-town guests where the regular Sunshine Coasters live (as if we could afford Hastings Street) and book this sweet pad in Marcus Beach. This modernist-inspired beach house is an enclave from the crazy busy tourist meccas across the Coast. Decked out with furniture you’re probably going to want to take photos of and then hunt down on Ebay, this quiet getaway is also pet-friendly. Srsly. Oh, and it comes with a pool—hey, there’s nothing like a game of Marco Polo to bring back those childhood memories of summer.
What to do nearby? Stroll south (or drive) to Peregian Beach, and don’t stop ‘til you’re scoffing back breakfast and coffee at Hand of Fatima’s.
