No longer is winter coming—we’re officially in its chilly depths. Wind, rain, fog, massive surf—we’ve got it all happening.
Us warmth-makes-us-happy Sunshine Coasters only survive so long without a serious heat lamp looming in the sky. And while we’re kinda proud of the “crazy” weather lashing the Coast, behind closed doors we’re falling apart and in need of a serious pick-me-up.
But don’t worry, guys! There’s heaps happening this week to keep us busy and our minds off the weather. Check out our list of five awesome things to do on the Sunshine Coast this week.
ECO Karma | Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15
Ocean lovers and yoga peeps, this is the event with your name all over it in this week’s line-up. Held in Noosa over two days and led by lululemon Global Yoga Ambassador Eoin Finn, this special get together will include a conversation about the importance of ocean conservation, an hour-long yoga class, an early morning surf meet-up, and like all good events, an after party at El Capitano. Did we mention tickets are free? Whoop whoop! You can find out more about ECO Karma here.
Where: El Capitano, 52 Hastings Street, Noosa (yoga class, conversation, and after party) and Noosa Main Beach in front of the surf club (surf meet-up).
VBCO X Illustration Gallery | Wednesday, June 15
We’re pretty excited about this school night event! Coffee roaster Vintage Black together with Corbin’s will be hosting a gallery night like no other from 7.30pm. Showcasing the works of five talented Sunshine Coast artists, there’ll also be live illustrations by the incredible Jessica Le Clerc being created while you mingle. Entry will set you back a bluey, but you’ll gain a welcome drink, so it totally evens out.
Where: Corbin’s, 34 Duporth Avenue, Maroochydore
Floral Arrangement Workshop | Saturday, June 18
Blooms, flowers, fleurs, whatever you call ‘em, Twig & Grace is going to show you how to create the most beautiful floral arrangements for your home, at this two-hour workshop. Combining store bought with trimmings from your garden (or let’s be honest, your neighbour’s), will be a cinch once you’ve taken part in this masterclass, guided by one of the best florists on the Sunshine Coast.
Where: Twig & Grace, 15 Diamond Street, Cooroy
Taste Test Black Bunny’s New Brekkie Menu | All week long (‘cept Monday)
We’re pretty sure you’ve already got the gist of this one, but Alexandra Headland fave Black Bunny Kitchen has just launched a new breakfast menu, and it’s now yours for the scoffing. So once you’ve ticked off that early morning beach walk, go reward yourself with the likes of Shakshuka—Israeli baked eggs with Persian fetta and chilli on Turkish—or a spicy Kimchi Pancake topped with super tender wood-fired pulled pork. Oh my!
Where: 180 Alexandra Parade, Maroochydore
Fireplace Hop Across The Coast | All week long
Dudes, if you got a bit boozy on the weekend and need to put some brownie points back in the bank, don’t look any further. Get your romance on, or just warm the hell up, by choosing your dining-out location for the week based on their fireplace status. Do they or don’t they? We’ve done the dirty work for you, and have found six of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast with fireplaces. No hunting for firewood, no smoking yourself out while you try and get it lit—just good food and great ambience. And, hopefully, some pretty awesome company.
Where: Various locations across the Coast and Hinterland
