Found | The Coast's Most Mouth-Watering Brownies

By Sophie Wright - 15 Jun 2016

Gooey, crumbly, fudgy, or nutty… whatever your preference, it’s a universal fact that nothing compares to the warm and fuzzy feels that come from diving into that perfect chocolate brownie.

Whether it’s paired with a handful of fresh berries, topped with a dollop of whipped cream, dusted with icing sugar, or plonked alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whoever invented such a versatile and delicious creation deserves a big smooch on the lips.

Forget pub crawls, this list featuring some of the best cafes on the Sunshine Coast, will have you embarking on a brownie crawl before you can say “dessert run?”

HAMPTONS ESPRESSO

This gorgeous café in the heart of Buderim has many delicious offerings, but Hamptons Espresso’s brownies are simply not to be missed. Having indulged in both their gooey chocolate and their salted caramel fudge brownies, the words “the best thing to grace my mouth’s presence” might have slipped out…
Where: Shop 2, 9 Goshawk Boulevard, Buderim

TOME

You all know them for their epic cakes, but Tome’s selection of brownies are nothing short of magnificent. While we can’t say what it’s like to jump into a pool of Nutella, we’d guess that plunging into any of their Nutella-filled brownies would evoke a similar sensation.
Where: 21 Ocean Street, Maroochydore

THE OLD BEAN ESPRESSO BAR

The team at The Old Bean have joined forces with a handful of local bakers to bring a mouth-watering selection of sweet treats to the table. Choose from chocolate and cranberry, or salted caramel… or don’t, and grab one of each. Por que no los dos?
Where: 4/1 River Esplanade, Mooloolaba

TAMP AND TAILOR ESPRESSO BAR

They’re relatively new kids on the block, but Tamp and Tailor are bringing some serious A-game to the Coast café scene. Known for their smooth brews and sweet treats, their melt-in-your-mouth American Brownie is our pick of the cabinet. Only from Monday to Friday can you get your hot little hands on this baby, so be sure to plan your next brownie date accordingly.
Where: 30 Enterprise Street, Maroochydore

LAMKIN LANE ESPRESSO BAR

Little laneway charmer Lamkin Lane is making waves Australia-wide. Their chocolate brownie don’t need no fancy toppings—it’s simple, icing sugar-dusted perfection. Paired with an award-winning, Top 5 in Australia cup of joe, it’s a match made in heaven.
Where: 31 Lamkin Lane, Caloundra

ELLIOTTS BISTRO

The gang at Elliotts like to mix up their brownie offerings every once in a while, but a solid fave is their dark chocolate and caramel. Lovely owner Rachelle has been using this recipe since she was 15 years old in her first café job, so with years of perfection behind it, you know it’s gotta be good.
Where: 102 Alexandra Parade, Alexandra Headland

BFRESH CAFE

BFresh Café knows that nobody deserves to be deprived of brownies. Health nuts will be stoked to find both a superfood brownie AND a protein brownie in the cabinet, packed with all sorts of goodness and made specially by local catering whiz Homemade Bliss. If you’re not into the fancy-schmancy superfood stuff, BFresh’s home-style brownie is made with love using the chef’s family recipe, and man, it is gooood.
Where: 239 Nicklin Way, Warana

LITTLE MAY ESPRESSO

This cute-as café in Montville has cemented its place in hearts everywhere because not only do they bake all of their sweet treats in-house, but they also source local produce to do it! There are many words that could be used to describe Little May’s chocolate brownie with orange blossom frosting, but we don’t feel they would adequately describe the level of deliciousness. So we won’t even try.
Where: 174 Main Street, Montville
