As Voted By You | Where To Find The Best Pizza On The Sunshine Coast

By Claire Plush - 09 Sep 2016

Fact: We could live off pizza. Maybe not for real, but taste-wise; it’s got enough goin’ on that our tastebuds send us thank-you cards for days after we’ve devoured a cheesy slice.

Turns out the Metropolist team, and our tastebuds, are not alone. You lot are major, MAJOR pizza fans too. Which is why we handed the reins over to you, so we could find out who you rate as having the best pizza on the Sunshine Coast.

Let it be said, Metropolist had no input on these results. We just tallied ‘em up. So, without further ado, in no particular order, say hello to your top 10 pizza joints.

El Capitano

Specialising in pizza is always a tricky business and, with tonnes of competition, if you’re going to do it, you need to do it well. Opening late last year, El Capitano knew they had to do something magic. And it’s all because of their sourdough bases made with certified organic stone-milled flour, and fermented for 72 hours, that you voted for them as dishing out some of the best pizza on the Sunshine Coast. Oh, and did we mention this Hastings Street joint now offers home delivery on weekends? Boo-yah!
Where: 52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

Drovers Pizza

Pulling in a heap of votes, Drovers Pizza got a whole lotta love for their more-ish hand-stretched, wood-fired pizzas. From their now-closed shop at Coolum Beach to a mobile stall at 10 Toes Brewery, these guys have covered the Coast with delish slices of our fave food for yonks. So where can you catch ‘em these days? Drovers have just opened a new pizza joint in Woombye. Open 5pm to late, Tuesday to Saturday, pack your fave red ‘cause it’s BYO wine.

Italian Marina

Go for the views, stay for the pizza is the vibe we got from those of you who backed Italian Marina as having the best pizza on the Sunshine Coast. Specialising in North Italian cuisine, this Tewantin fave serves up stunning Noosa River vistas alongside irresistible wood-fired pizza. Don’t leave without trying the prawns and zucchini pizza or the Prosciutto (capital?) e rucola topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, Fior di latte mozzarella, prosciutto, rocket, and shaved Parmesan. Bellisimo! (italics?)

All’ Antica

You know a place is good when they’ve been open for more than 25 years, right? Right! The folk at All’ Anitca have garnered quite the following with a steady flow of votes streaming in over the last month. And because we can’t go past a good reco, you guys suggested everybody get their mouths around the balsamic-roasted pork belly pizza with mild chilli plum sauce, roasted peppers, red onion, and fresh rocket. We need this in our lives, stat!
