The Bible would have us believe that Woman was made from Adam’s rib. Well, I don’t often say this, but I reckon the Bible might be on to something.
After all, if we had to be built from the body of another member of our species, the rib is definitely the best, juiciest, most delicious part.
When cooked long and slow, the tough, sinewy intercostal muscles between the ribs become sticky and tender and the bones themselves are perfect for gnawing and pretending to be Fred Flintstone.
So without any further drool-worthy ado, here’s nine joints where you can feast on the best ribs on the Sunshine Coast.
Got a few besties with the same inclination for sweet n smoky BBQ sauce and sticky hands? Then head down to Dirty Moes for their epic celebration of beefy goodness. These beef ribs are slow cooked in Southern Comfort and Coke, and are enough for two or three friends to share. So roll up your sleeves, order a side of mac ‘n’ cheese and chargrilled corn, and get messy. We’re giving these guys a fat 10 out of 10 for serving up some of the best ribs on the Sunshine Coast.

Alex Bar and Grill
Coated with lashings of your fave sauce—house-made hickory BBQ sauce or spiced plum—Alex Bar and Grill’s USA-style ribs are the kind that’ll have you hitting up this joint time after time. After time. If mix and match is more your jam, skip the full rack for a smaller serving of ribs paired with chicken, steak, or wings. Oh the possibilities!

The pork ribs at Good Bar aren’t for the faint-hearted. If you feel like getting really messy, order the Hot As Hell Fried Wings and a Peanut Butter Jelly Time shake to wash it down. Epic.

Rump House Noosa
When you’re talking meat, the team at Rump House Noosa seriously know their stuff. You can order ribs as a stand-alone dish—twice-cooked baby back pork ribs, no less—or if you’re feeling particularly carnivorous, you can order ribs as a side dish alongside a piece of steak. Yep, if your steak isn’t meaty enough, you can add some extra ribs in sticky BBQ sauce, just to top it off. Perfect.

One Up Bar and Bistro
Check out the view while you sip a cocktail and sample the huge tapas options at One Up Bar and Bistro.
Tapas are divided into Ocean, Farmyard, Garden, and Field. Jump to the Farmyard section and you’ll find some amazing lamb ribs, with a sweet and sour relish, to perfectly cut through the sticky, fattiness of the lamb. A strong contender among the best ribs on the Sunshine Coast, that’s for sure!

Three Bar and Grill
The only risk at Three Bar and Grill is that the 500 gram T-Bone, topped with sticky BBQ pork ribs, hand-cut chips, and onion rings will fill you up so much, you don’t have room for the lemon meringue cheese cake. Which would be a tragedy. Trust us.

We’re used to seeing pork and beef ribs on menus, hell, we sometimes even see lamb ribs. But chicken ribs? You might think that chickens don’t have enough meat on their bones to make them worth eating. Well, you’d be wrong. The fried chicken ribs at Gaston are sweet and crispy with enough spicy Cajun seasoning to make you want to lick the bones clean.
Mix and match with dumplings, duck spring rolls, salt and pepper squid, and a few cold beers and make a night of it.

Possibly the greatest dilemma humankind has ever faced—deciding between burger and ribs. Padstows, the new kid on the block in Noosa Junction, has resolved this for us. They’ve given us the braised beef rib burger with sticky bbq bourbon sauce and chipotle aioli. Mind = blown.

The King Henry rack of ribs at Montville Pub will make you feel like you’re feasting in a medieval court. These ribs are braised in honey and beer, and take up almost all of your plate. So grab your wench*, down a few hearty ales, and eat like a king.
*If you value any aspect of your manhood, we recommend that you don’t actually use the term “wench” apart from inside your own head.
