Three words for you. Treat. Yo. Self. You’re hard workin’. You’ve been pulling the hard yards trying to balance work, friends, and the parentals. All the while slogging it out on the treadmill!

Put aside just one day this year to seriously splash out, put your feet up, and be pampered at one of the best Sunshine Coast day spas. You’ve earned it. And because if you’re going to spa it up, you may as well spa it up properly, we’ve hunted down six of the top splurge-worthy treatments around.

Sometimes—all too often—we feel a bit out of whack. Mind and body are in repairs at the auto shop and spirit is out on the street pulling wheelies with the hoons. These are the times we need to be pulling up at the Asante Day Spa. The Li’tya Kisama treatment is totally unique and starts with a traditional smoking ceremony and aromatherapy journey. This is performed while you enjoy a warm foot soak and salt polish, followed by a Pepperberry foot mask and hot towel. Then, relax into a full body Kodo rhythmic massage and finish with a pressure point head massage, hair mask, and hot towel turban. I may or may not have just fallen into a relaxing trance while writing this.

Feeling a bit haggard? Is the ol’ bod not performing like the well-oiled machine it was last year? Ikatan Day Spa has the perfect cure for that. They’re using an ultimate anti-ageing massage oil rich in Vitamin A, C, E with properties to improve skin texture, tone, and appearance. Also great for the muscles, this newly introduced massage is guaranteed to leave you feeling silky, soft and supple, and at least 10 years younger. And if that doesn’t work, the complementary glass of bubbles should do the trick.
Cost: $155 for 60-minute treatment or $185 for 90-minute treatment

Bringing us rainbows, thunderstorms and great excuses to sing, dance and wear bright coloured gumboots, rain is simply therapeutic in itself. But Stephanies Ocean Spa is taking it one step further, using a customised water massage to help you relax and detox. With a number of rain therapy treatments to choose from, their signature is the Spirit of Wailele. It’s an invigorating ritual, which includes skin brushing, aromatic body exfoliation, water and hot stone massage to your back, neck, and shoulders. And finished off with a skin refresher treatment and nourishing hair and scalp reviver. A total splurge-worthy treat at one of the best Sunshine Coast day spas!

Trust us when we say, there’ll never be another time that you’ll enjoy being lathered in mud, as much as this. Unwind with Soul Skin and Spa’s Mineral Mud Wrap, which starts with a body cleanse and polish using wildflower essences, sea salts, and aromatherapy oil. Then, allow yourself to be cocooned in lush mud, which will eliminate toxins, tone skin, and relieve aching muscles. All while indulging in a heavenly scalp massage and mini facial. You’ll leave feeling happy as a pig in muck.

If you’re after a bit of R&R with the other half, then this one’s for you. The Glace Ginger Sugar Smoother is for her, promising a full body scrub with organic cane sugar, pure ginger, lemongrass, and mint. Topped off with a nutrient rich and hydrating full body massage. Yum. While he enjoys the Total Time Out For Him treatment, starting with a deep rhythmic back, neck, and shoulder massage with Spa Anise’s signature “Revitalise” oil blend. Sounds like the paving to domestic bliss, if you ask us!

The Oxygen Infusion Facial at Sheers Bliss Beauty, quote: “incorporates topical hyperbaric oxygen technology with DNA rejuvenation serums to infuse and stimulate the regeneration of new cells, elastin, and collagen production”. Yeah, we have no idea what that means either. But if Madonna, Justin, and Gwen are doing it—then it must be good! What you should know is that this treatment will hydrate, tighten, and plump your skin. A perfect partner with the microdermabrasion treatment, you’ll be swanning out of there like a pop princess in no time.
