Beer swiggers, we’ve got some news that is going to whet your parched mouths like nothing else.

Your fave Pomona brewery—and one of the first to open on the Coast ahead of the growing trend—is up and running at a new Noosa Hinterland location. Yep, Bonsai Brewhouse is back, baby!

After closing its doors unexpectedly in January and moving out of the old, ramshackle space we’d all come to know and love, we’re so freakin’ pumped that owners Cass and Matt decided to continue with their dream, albeit somewhere else. And after hanging out at the new Bonsai this weekend, we can personally vouch that it retains the same ol’ rustic charm.

Taking over a space in Cooran, about a 10-minute drive from Pomona, the new Bonsai Brewhouse is spacious and kitted out with plenty of tables, a huge bar and most importantly, loads of in-house beer.

With floorboards, old windows that open onto bush and an enclosed veranda lined with bonsai, we’re pretty confident you and your drinking buddies are going to love it.

A new addition this time around is a permanent street food stall in the heart of the main room. Journey Street Food, who serve tasty eats at markets across the Sunshine Coast, have made Bonsai their permanent home, which means this joint has become a one-stop shop for all your beer session needs. From nachos and bao to fish tacos and sweet potato chips, there’s a dish to soak up every schooner you polish off. How’s that for convenience?!

Open Fridays and Saturdays from 11.30am ‘til late, go give the guys at Bonsai Brewhouse a warm welcome back to the brewery scene. The wait is officially over.
