Getting hitched? We took a sneak peek at the newest, and quite possibly the most stunning, bridal boutique on the Sunshine Coast, and now we have just three words for you: Get. There. Now.
…Kidding! We’d never just stop there. Especially with a place like this.
Opening in Maroochydore about a month ago, Sphere Collective is pretty much the answer to every modern bride’s needs/wants/desires/you name it, on the Sunshine Coast. For us, what started as a crush on their Instagram account (go take a squiz), became a full-blown love affair as soon as we stepped inside the intimate and romantically-styled space.
At the helm of Sphere, is Sarah Lucas—with a background in bridal styling, magazines, and over 10 years’ experience as a hair and make-up artist, this gal knows what’s going on when it comes to teeming “this” with “that” to create the ultimate wedding day look. Is it too much to say we have a crush on her, as well as the boutique?
Anyhoo, walk through the glass doors, beyond the billowing white curtains that line the front of the boutique and you’ll spot the golden (literally, it’s gold) rack. Hanging here is a tight but stunning curation of wedding dresses from the likes of Australian bridal designers Made With Love and Karen Willis Holmes, and international labels like the vintage-fuelled Daughters of Simone and oh-so-romantic Odylyne The Ceremony. You won’t find them anywhere else on the Coast, and the best bit? All the dresses are under $4000. Yep—timeless, unique, and a reasonable price tag—things are looking pretty dandy.
It’s also worth mentioning that Sarah’s background in the industry and working as a freelance stylist in Sydney, has meant she’s forged close relationships with each designer. So much so, that if you find a dress you “like” and want to re-design it into a dress you “love”, it’s possible. Don’t understand? Put simply, Sarah has the trust of the designers and a hefty knowledge base of what works and what doesn’t, so if you love the floor-length French lace number, but want it minus the sleeves, it can be done. Seriously!
But wait, there’s more! Come November, Sphere Collective is going to host intimate trunk shows. Each show will give bride-to-bes (along with their girl squad) the opportunity to check out a collection of gowns from a label not currently stocked at Sphere. These events will need to be pre-booked, and if there’s a label you love but can’t get your hands on, Sarah would love for you to get in touch and suggest it. If it’s a match for Sphere, she’ll do her best to make a show happen. Impressive, huh? We can’t reveal the details just yet, but the first trunk show will be happening in November with a sought-after American bridal designer, so if that’s ringing any bells, best be following Sphere for updates.
Now, if we’re honest, it’s always about the dress. Need proof? We’ve just written three paragraphs about the things. But, and this is a big but, once you feast your eyes on the jewellery at Sphere, we’d totally understand if you chose a dress based on the fact that you NEED to wear something that suits the fine gold choker you can’t get over. The struggle is real.
Displayed in a stunning rose gold cabinet that seems to float in the middle of the boutique, Sphere’s jewellery offerings are modern statement pieces rather than traditional, sparkly gems. Stocking F + H, Accessories By G (we’re loving their brass with gold Nobu earrings), and fine jewellery by Natasha Schweitzer, these are the kind of pieces that you’ll wear for years, and years, and years, to parties, lunches, and special birthday dinners.
Brides, if you haven’t already stopped reading to make an appointment, we’re confused. Sitting a stone’s throw from the Maroochy River, a visit to this new bespoke boutique means you may no longer need to hit Brisvegas, or jump a plane direct to the stylish laneways of Sydney and Melbourne, in hopes of finding THE DRESS AKA The One. DID YOU HEAR ME? This is huge stuff! And something we’re keen to toast. (Wine in hand) Welcome to the Coast, Sphere. And Sunshine Coast bride-to-bes, rejoice!
