9 Foodie Secrets You Totally Wanna Know About If You Live In Noosa

By Trixie Hillen - 06 Sep 2016

We all want to feel a bit special sometimes. Like when your barista writes your name on your coffee cup without having to ask (AND gives you a big love heart).

So we’ve rounded up some of the best local secrets Noosa has to offer—midweek specials, happy hours, and family feasts. If you schedule it carefully, you can pretty much dine out every night of the week without having to order a single full-priced meal!

Cocktails + Tapas | Bistro C

Hastings Street has a reputation for being a bit of a tourist trap, but Bistro C takes care of us locals with cocktail and tapas specials 3-5pm. Every. Freaking. Day. And if you’re in need of something a bit more filling, on Tuesdays, they dish up a roast lamb for two that would make Grandma green with envy, on Wednesdays you can snuggle up and share a classic beef Bourguignon and petit fours, and Fridays there’s an epic hot and cold seafood platter.

Bargain Pizza Deal | Locale Noosa

Mozzarella, taleggio, stracciatella—it doesn’t get much more Italian than this! Locale has the ultimate lunchtime specials to help you recover when you’ve been trying on outrageously expensive sunnies on Hastings St all morning. Kick back with a pinot grigio and an authentic Italian woodfired pizza for $25. We vote for the white base pizza with buffalo mozzarella, Gympie baby zucchini, and a hit of chilli.

Tapas + Wine Special | Marble Bar

It’s midweek, you’re trying to drag your boring flatmate out of the house to party, but she’s binge-watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix so you need a GOOD hook. What better than an evening of people-watching, tapas, and wine in Sunshine Beach at Marble Bar? Just $65 for three tapas and a bottle of wine Monday to Thursday. Bottoms up!

30% Off On Wednesday Nights | Miss Moneypenny’s

“I don’t want to belong to any club that would accept me as a member.” Well clearly Groucho Marx had never heard of Miss Moneypenny’s, where everyone who’s anyone wants to be a member! Wednesdays are members’ nights at Moneypenny’s, where you can get up to 30% off your total bill—cocktails, food, everything! So put on your hottest threads, give your crush a wink, and head for Moneypenny’s for a frugal, but sexy date night.

Free Glass Of Wine | Pitchfork

So, your budget doesn’t stretch to dinner AND a glass of wine, but you’re hankering for a night out? Well, put your Nanna cardie on for an early bird dinner. If you book for 5pm and you’re out by 7pm, Pitchfork will throw in a glass of wine with your dinner. And these guys are serious about amaaaaahzing food, so we promise you’ll be in foodie heaven.

Three-course Asian Feast For $49 | Embassy XO

Everyone’s fave dim sum joint, Embassy XO, is home to one of the best locals’ nights known to man. Every Wednesday and Thursday, the Embassy XO crew dish up an epic three-course Asian feast with a glass of wine for just $49. If you’re lucky, they might have their steamed buns with chilli raspberry sauce on the menu. Sigh!

Italian Long Lunch | Noosa Waterfront

Europeans totally know how to do a long lunch. And an Italian Long Lunch on Noosa River is impossible to resist, especially when it begins with a glass of Prosecco, ends with a lush, rich dessert, and is filled with course after course of heavenly Italian classics in between. And when it’s only $60 per person it wins everything. Amirite? But Noosa Waterfront Restaurant only dishes up this feast on the last Sunday of every month, so put it in your calendar, pronto!

Plenty For $20 | Thomas Corner Eatery

You’ve talked up your fishing skills, seriously overpromised on the “hunter gatherer” thing, and you’re heading home from a day on the river empty-handed. Need to sidetrack your significant other from their hunger pangs when you’re NOT bringing home a bountiful ocean banquet? Tell them to meet you at Thomas Corner Eatery and distract them with the Plenty for $20 deal—wine, cheese, and crackers for two from 3-5pm every day, or beers and salted fries with malt vinegar aioli. Perfect with fish. Oh…

Five for $5 | Café Le Monde

Hasting Street icon, Café Le Monde is the spot to refuel after a big day in the surf, or to get pumped with a few bevvies and a snack before a big night. Either way, their 5 for $5 deal from 4-5pm each day lets you choose between finger lickin’ buttermilk chicken ribs, taco of the day, their famous Maliburger sliders, and more for $5 each.
