Justice is served—and it tastes so freakin’ delicious. On Sunday 12 November, Australia will legalise hemp seed for human consumption, and one of our favourite vegetarian restaurants on the Sunshine Coast has made something pretty special to celebrate.

Yep, Queensland’s first ever legal hemp burger is coming to town and it’s amazing. Dreamed up by the health-lovin’ folks at Elixiba, this gluten-free burger is jammed with a black bean and hemp pattie, lettuce, tomato, caramelised onion and a super green secret sauce. Drooling already? Well, you just wait!

As well as the burger, Elixiba will be kicking off the launch of their $10 breakfasts (9am to 12pm) featuring hemp smoothies (think: chocolate and banana or tropical) and gluten-free hemp pancakes with banana and berries. So, morning or night, they’ve got your hemp nosh covered.

We’re predicting this is gonna be big, so if you don’t want to miss a bite of it, do yourself a solid and book a table asap.
