Them Jugs | Who's Doing Share Cocktails On The Coast?

By Claire Plush - 11 Mar 2016

Yo’ mama always told you that sharing is caring, and there’s no better way to show just how “caring” you are, then by presenting a table of mates with cocktail jugs.

Who wants to sip on a single-serve mojito when you get a whole JUG of mojito? We’re pretty sure the answer is: not one single person over the age of 15 18.

So, to help quench your insatiable thirst, we’ve hunted down who’s doing cocktail jugs on the Sunshine Coast. Here’s six of our faves.

Miss Moneypenny’s

We’re pretty sure Miss Moneypenny’s is the unofficial cocktail queen of Noosa. And when you glance over their cocktail menu and feast your eyes on their jugs, you’ll see why. Actually, scrap that, we’ll just tell you why. The short of it—you’ll be umming and ahhing over whether to order the Bourbon Beeswax Iced Tea, Miss Moneypenny’s Belvedere Bloody Mary, Istanbul Old Iced Tea, or the Belvedere Automobile, which is super special with pink grapefruit vodka, pomegranate syrup, lime juice, and mint leaves, then topped with ginger beer. The long of it—a quiet night is quickly going to turn into a big one when you can no longer resist the urge to make your way through all of ‘em. Glug, glug, glug.

Spice Bar

You know those places that do a freakin’ amazing job at everything? Well, fine-dining powerhouse, Spice Bar is one of them! One of the best restaurants in Mooloolaba, this highly held establishment makes eating ridiculously delicious food even better (which we didn’t even know was possible…) with their cocktail jugs. Switch between their Pimms jug, complete with strawberries, and the holiday-infused mojito jug—think: Havana Club, Kizan Sanban Sake, lemongrass ginger syrup, lime, mint, and soda.

High Tide

Like every year, March still hasn’t got the memo that it’s time to cool the eff down. On the upside, there’s still plenty of time to sip a refreshing, thirst-quenching cocktail. And naturally, things that are shared (or meant to be shared) taste that much better. The carafe of fruit-infused white sangria at High Tide is no exception.

Bohemian Bungalow

If you think the only reason to go to Eumundi is to take your latest interstate visitors on a market tour, you’re a very confused soul. We can think of at least one more totally valid excuse to head to this quaint town and it involves big jugs, of course. Ecclectic restaurant and bar, Bohemian Bungalow, serves up such a swiggable selection of cocktail jugs, you’ll be struggling to pick just one. Start with the Aloha Eumundi—white rum, pineapple, orange, lemonade, lime, lemon, summer nectar, and basil—and then act all coy when the Jug ‘O’ Mule appears on your table. #howdidthathappen

Your Place Espresso Bar

Your Place have brought their cocktail jugs back just for you, so the normal thing to do would be to go and show your appreciation by drinking four. Between two people. Just ‘cause. Add to that some live tunes and $10 pizza, and Sunday afternoon = sorted.

La Canteena

Our fave, new-ish Maroochydore Bar, La Canteena is all about the Mexican vibes. So, it’s hardly a surprise that along with their tasty eats on offer—think: tacos, nachos, wings—they’re also serving up a chilled carafe of thirst-quenching sangria. These guys are only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so bookmark this one for the the weekend. Ola!
