You will be warmed by the décor and the Italian yumminess that Jamie Oliver’s Trattoria in Parramatta dishes up. A spacious, two-storeyed affair, with tall ceilings and an industrial chic, hanging light bulb, distressed (not emotionally) wood kind of vibe, this is a great space for indoor and outdoor delicious times with a big group.

Kagura
We love a little spectacle with our dinner and cocktails, but this little Japanese inspired bar and restaurant in Surry Hills is taking it that much further. On the casual side of the menu, you've got fried chicken as mindblowing as the cocktails (masterfully made in front of you by Flynn McLennan, who used to shake things up at Zeta Bar). On the theatrical side of the menu, order the maple smoked scallops with whisky aroma. And for plain damn delicious, you can't go past the smoked ox tongue skewers. We challenge you to have just one.

Kit & Ace have opened their Sydney doors in none other than Surry Hills. The allure of machine washable cashmere is the biggest drawcard to this luxury brand. Shannon and her stepson JJ noticed a gap in the market around functional and sophisticated fashion and decided to create what they couldn't find. Fabrics are designed to take the wearer from day to night and with the classic cuts and effortless style it’s easy to see why it’s becoming so popular. The New York steak house is an institution in itself and Chophouse has become the Australian take on this tradition. With a seasonal menu that focusses on the produce and of course, the meat. This is the place to go for a steak in Sydney.

When in Sydney... check out this Roman Italian cafe at The Strand, where the food is as regal as the surroundings. For beautiful bruschettas, buckwheat pancakes and truffled biodynamic eggs, you can't really go wrong for this coffee and breakfast pit stop (especially since they also have a branch on Pitt Street)! It's the perfect way to feel like you've actually escaped much further from the office than you actually have.

Started by a tight-knit group of friends with a mutual passion for achieving coffee nirvana, the guys at Brewristas live and breathe coffee 24/7. Whether it’s espresso, cold drip or pour over you’re after – this Glebe café has got you covered.
The Wilkes Cafe
The café scene on the northside continues to grow and we’re not complaining. This Artarmon café is serving up all your regular staples. Hash benedict? Check. Avo smash with tomatoes and poached eggs? Check. Bacon and egg roll? Double Check. However, they’ve also got some not-so-typical café fare with the Atlantic salmon pumpkin feta salad and yuzu-glazed pork belly quickly becoming lunch favourites.

In what is good news for Danks Street, So 9 has set up shop serving a range of tasty, tasty banh mi as well as a bunch of other Vietnamese favourites. The interiors are not what you’d expect from a Vietnamese restaurant with light timber features and a pastel palette that just makes you feel relaxed and ready to eat. But you still get that same experience of wandering the street markets of Han Noi with the various stations on display so you can watch as the masterful chefs prepare your food.
