We’re edging closer to the end of the year, folks. But with so much happening in the next 30 days, we reckon it’s about time we all hit the brakes and enjoy!
Film festivals, a mammoth wedding expo, and bar to brewery hops, we think we just fell for November. Hard.
Here’s our pick of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast this month.
Noosa International Film Festival | November 3-6
Film buffs will want to check out Noosa International Film Festival—trust us! Kicking off this Thursday, the festival will screen over 140 short and feature length films, from all over the world. With five different venues across the Noosa region, scan the program and nab your single ticket or festival pass asap!

Originals Music Festival | November 5
Just when we thought 2016’s run of music festivals was over, we look up to see the Originals raring to go. This all-ages festival at Coolum Beach has pulled in another fun line-up with the likes of The Living End, Thundamentals, Dune Rats, Tijuana Cartel, The Belligerents, and way more! Travelling from further afield? Camping options have now been added for over 18s.
Where: Coolum Sports Complex, David Low Way
Point Break 2 Screening Under The Stars | November 5
Set beside Lyrebird Beach at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, this month’s pop-up cinema event will see Point Break 2 hit the big screen, along with a surf doco and a side of live music. This is an adult-only event with gates opening at 5pm and the feature film kicking off at 7pm. Make sure you bring cash, ‘cause there’ll be a burger stand and a cocktail bar. Mmm-mmm!
Where: Novotel Twin Waters Resort, 270 Ocean Drive, Twin Waters
Sunshine Coast Wedding Expo | November 6
Tying the knot somewhere in our stunning patch of paradise? Then you’d best be kicking up those heels to the Sunshine Coast Wedding Expo. Bringing together all of the best local wedding vendors, for one day only, this is your chance to meet the peeps who could help bring your special day to life. There’ll be wedding gowns from our fave Sphere Collective, caterers, mobile bars, celebrants, florists, photographers, and so much more. For your beau, there’s even a man cave serving craft beer for when he needs a breather—they’ve seriously thought of everything.
Where: Maroochy RSL, Memorial Avenue, Maroochydore
Wine Dinner at Corbin’s | November 6
Two of our favourite words—wine and dinner—come together for this spring event at Corbin’s. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a ticket, you’ll be nibbling on five tasting plates that are perfectly matched with five Allandale Wines from the Hunter Valley. Did we mention it’s only 50 bucks? #wheredowesignup
Where: 34 Duporth Avenue, Maroochydore
Beginners Macramé Wall-Hanging Workshop | November 12
Missed out on one of these sold-out workshops in the past? This is your chance to become a macramé maven at the capable hands of Jodi from Creative Bowerbird. Using driftwood, copper, and cotton cord, you’ll be crafting up a storm in no time, leaving all your houseguests asking where you “bought” your wall hanging from.
Where: Share Space, 3/22 Beach Road, Maroochydore
Conscious Life Festival | November 12 and 13
It’s never too late to make 2016 the year that you started your wellness transformation, especially with events like Conscious Life Festival popping up on the Sunshine Coast. Unfolding over two days, this health extravaganza is an awesome way to be introduced to what it means to live a conscious life. With over 130 exhibitors (from skincare to yoga studios), thought-provoking seminars and workshops, at only $15 for a festival pass, it’s gotta be one of the cheapest ways to feed your mind and soul.
Where: 114 Sportsman’s Parade, Bokarina
Bar To Brewery Hop | November 12 and 26
The only thing that could make all of our new Sunshine Coast breweries better was if someone would drive us to and between them. Am I right or am I right? Well, our prayers have been answered thanks to Sunshine Coast Craft Beer Tours. This November, there’s two buses you probably want to score a posi on. Jump aboard a tour going from Taps to Brouhaha and The Basement, or Taps to Sunshine Coast Brewery then 10 Toes. You’ll meet the brewer, enjoy a brewery tour, as well as getting to scoff a delicious lunch and tasting paddles.
Where: Various locations across the region
Sandal Making Workshops | November 15 and 16
Always thought of yourself as a closet footwear designer? Now’s your chance to prove you’ve got the skills. Local lass Lisa Turnbull is taking a small group of keen students into her Coolum Beach studio to teach a simple sandal-making workshop. Although when they look this good, we doubt it’s that simple. Spread over two days, and including morning tea and coffee, you’ll choose your fave sandal-style then tinker away, breaking for morning tea and coffee. If you can think of this as more of an investment (after all, you are taking home a pair of handcrafted leather sandals), then the pricetag won’t scare you.

Founders Co | November 19
We’ve been waiting for this event to swing back around since we said sayonara to it back in 2015, and it’s finally here. Founders Co. is a tradeshow created to showcase emerging and independent designers, makers, and artists. Held at the Big Top, and with more stalls than ever, there’ll be food, drinks, and live entertainment also on offer. The best bit? Christmas is just around the corner, so there’s plenty of reasons to get your shop on and buy local.
