We all know how much you guys love your mountains and your walking.
Put the two together and, well, we’re not sure we’ve come across an activity with a bigger fan base on the Sunshine Coast.
So, imagine our excitement when we found out that this coming Sunday is the ONLY day in the WHOLE year where the public, AKA you and your mates, can climb Cooroy Mountain. How’s that for an exclusive mountain climb!?
Serious mountain adventurers will know that Mount Cooroy is normally off-limits, being privately owned by Cooroy Mountain Spring Water. So we’re hardly exaggerating when we say if you miss out on this Sunday’s climb, you’ll be waiting 12 months for a second chance. Ouch!
Entry to the mountain is $10 for adults (children under 16 are free), with all proceeds going to local charity, Sunshine Butterflies. Part of the Cooroy Mountain Festival, there’ll also be food stalls to launch yourself at once you’ve conquered the beast.
Hikes up the 408-metre tall mound kick off at 7am and go through ‘til 1pm, so you’d best be cancelling that brekkie, postponing your weekend market trawl, and getting your butt to Cooroy Mountain this Sunday. Don’t say we didn’t tell you!
