The Sunshine Coast is full of surprises, but we were pretty much wetting ourselves with excitement when we heard this news.
Yep, one of the region’s most-loved cafes, Little Boat Espresso, is opening a second store in Woombye later this month. And it’ll go by the name of Winnie. Nawww!
At the helm, will be Little Boat co-owners Sara Dillon and Leon Russell, along with barista extraordinaire Jess Stellon. It’s blatantly obvious we already adore Little Boat, so we can’t imagine what Winnie will turn out like with not two, but THREE peeps guiding it into the “awesome” lane.
With the keys being handed over to the threesome this weekend, they’ll be busy giving the whole space a major renovation before throwing open the doors on a yet to be confirmed November date—don’t worry, we’ll be the first to let you know!
Much like Little Boat, the star of the show will be exceptional seasonal produce used in an innovative way. The menu will be centred around brunch, featuring some old faves from Little Boat like the smashed avo. But fret not, there’ll also be a heap of new combinations to try, ensuring Winnie leaves her own mark in the Sunshine Coast foodie circles. Coffee-wise, smooth Vintage Black Coffee will be pouring and thanks to multi-talented Leon also owning this local coffee brand, you can rest easy knowing your much-needed morning spike will be in safe hands.
While the work has yet to kick off, we’ve been told Winnie’s style is less eclectic and more intimate than Little Boat Espresso. There’s even whispers of pink ceramic tiles and light timber fitouts creating a clean but colourful space.
And that’s all we’ve got for you, folks. So, while we can already hear the locals in Woombye, Nambour, and Palmwoods shuffling to the front of their seats in anticipation, you’re going to have to wait a tad longer.
We’ll keep you posted, promise!
