The time has finally come and we can share the epic, life-changing news that the Sunshine Coast is getting a real-deal, authentic Vietnamese restaurant. And it opens tomorrow!

Big news, isn’t it?! And it’s made even better when you find out that Nguyen Brothers isn’t some ‘we hope it’s good place’. No siree! With two Sydney eateries already under their belts, we’re feeling pretty confident that this new Maroochydore joint is going to get busy. Like, super busy.

Popping up in the Kon-Tiki towers, across from Sunshine Plaza, this Vietnamese restaurant is decked out with timber tables and stools, a long turquoise-coloured booth, pastel tiles and, of course, delicious-smelling wafts of authentic dishes.  It’s big and open, and is the ultimate space for sophisticated dining with a laid-back atmosphere, just what the Sunshine Coast ‘hospitality doctor’ ordered.

Moving up from Sydney to the Coast only a few short months ago, owner Yen Nguyen has been busy alongside his family and some of his city staff that have also relocated, getting this place ready for you! And now, my friends, we get to reap the rewards.

Anyone who’s a fan of Vietnamese, knows that we don’t really have a legit restaurant to go and stuff our faces here on the Sunshine Coast. Yes, there are big franchises and a few Asian fusion restaurants, but a Vietnamese-only joint? Nup. Or, if there is, it’s so under the radar even we don’t know about.

But, oh, the times they are a-changin’, starting with Nguyen Brothers, and we’re freaking excited…mainly because it means all of the pho and banh mi we could ever dream of are now at our hungry fingertips.

The menu offers everything from spring rolls and crispy pancakes stuffed with pork as entrees, before moving onto big, more feast-like dishes—think: caramelised pork in the clay pot, deep-fried whole snapper or a cabbage salad loaded with fresh herbs and chicken. And pho-get slurping anywhere else to get your noodle fix, these guys have got you covered with loads of vermicelli. Basically, we’re in heaven.

Nguyen Brothers is opening its doors for the first time tomorrow from 11am, so get on over to Maroochydore and give ‘em an unphogettable welcome to the Sunshine Coast.
