Summer is finally back, Brissy! With the humidity comes our obsession with sundowners, SPF application and sunning oneself in a beer garden from now until at least mid-March. What can I say? We’re a bunch of summer-holics.
To gear us up for another long hot summer, news of a new Brisbane bar is always a sure thing to get us (literally) hot under the collar. Even more so when the joint in question looks summery AF!
Enter, Little Big House: the new Brisbane bar of your tropical dreams. Located at Southpoint in South Brisbane, a gorgeous heritage Queenslander has been lovingly restored, treated like the lady she is, and has been reborn as a light and airy drinking den! Huzzah!
Little Big House has restored all the features of this beautiful building, creating one of the most iconic bar facades in Brisbane. Picture sweeping verandas, high ceilings, traditional touches with a splash of modern features, plantation shutters, festoon lights, plus bulk palm trees, foliage and greenery for peak tropical vibes.
Food and drink menus will nod to the building’s 125-year history, with local QLD produce and ingredients the stars of the show, including a big focus on seafood and rotisserie-style dishes—with a tropical theme, natch.
Little Big House is being spearheaded by Solotel; the very same group that brought us Brisbane icons Aria Restaurant and Riverbar & Kitchen—so you know there’s no messing around here.
Little Big House is set to open in December, just in time for Christmas! Happy holidays indeed!
